Does anyone know the difference between these former Bournemouth Gemini and more home grow buses ?
They sound slightly different especially when changing gear.
As a side note there are hardly any body rattles compared to the original first ones, I wonder if gasket glazing helps ?

I wouldn't be so sure about the gasket windows reducing the amount of rattles. I mean almost always the rattles you do hear come from loose parts on the inside of the vehicle. Seats, bars, or even emergency doors. If you take a look at the poorly refurbished vehicles at Halifax, the ones with the pink bars, it seems the bars are missing some kind of seal or glue to stop them shaking around.

Gasket windows offer better support unlike the bonded windows that use the window strength to support the roof, gasket windows have roof support between each window. The engines and gearboxes are the same but it would appear a bit more thought has gone in to the body layout. The big rear nearside door is much better for working on the engine front than the early type with a small door and lift up flap.

The gearbox programme on standard First Bus B9s is programme No2 where as the 363s are in programme No3.
Our Ex London B9TLs at Halifax were all in No1 but have been changed to No4 to cope with hill climbing around HFX
