Metro have said there is a data error with several routes in Leeds and Wakefield, all of which are connected to September service changes. However a couple of routes not changing, nor listed as affected are services 1/B. Bus times has them listed at totally different times to what the timetable was pre September changes. Metro still have the former times. We haven't a clue as to who's correct as they turn up out of nowhere at times not expected, some go on to then wait for an age on Park Row. What's going on?

Can't really blame Bustimes for anything, as Bustimes relies on the information that's it's sent, and that is through the ticket machine on the buses, if it isn't set up properly or the information isn't correct on the ticket machine then thats not Bustimes fault.
Bustimes does it's best, if the companies don't set things up properly, ect then thats on the company not on Bustimes.

I’m not sure that’s entirely the case as data users will need to interpret codes correctly - bustimes has been known to not correctly reflect school variations where term dates differ.

If a bus isn't tracking properly, then thats down to the company, for not putting the information right on the ticket machine. Bustimes get their information from ticketer, literally states that on the website, and including the timetables, so either ticketer's end and the bus companies end.

The timetable data doesn’t come from Ticketer The 1B timetable says (literally literally) “Timetable data from First Bus/Bus Open Data Service (BODS), 24 August 2023” I agree with tracking but this thread is about the timetable which does need a degree of interpretation of the coding to get it into the right format.

Arriva's source for the timetable data on bustimes is from ticketer, Timetable data from opendata.ticketer.com/uk/WRAY/routes_and_timetables/current.zip, I accept other operators have their data from the different sources.

That may just be for hosting purposes. Ticketer will normally be the source of BODS fare data and potentially the location data and do offer to host the timetable data, but to the best of my knowledge are unable to produce timetables independently- they require TransExchange files from a timetabling software.
