Here's a documentary I made at the University of Leeds about the state of buses in the area. I was 19 at the time, autumn 1998. There's lots I'd do differently with this film today, but far too little has changed in 25 years, sadly! youtu.be/LzPP9zlBxiE

The frequency back in the late 90's was more than there is now. I also distinctly remember this was the time I was at school and there were many more buses to Clarence Dock/Royal Armouries than the interviewee stated in 1998. Upto 9 an hour and into the night services too on the 995 Bodington Hall to Clarence Dock. The 95 stopped serving Clarence Dock in summer 2007 and gone too were the night buses south of the river. Replaced by the 20 min frequency on the 28 to Adel via City Bus Stn. Black Prince had their 63B Clarence Dock to Bodington Hall via City Sq every 20 mins. I remember those Routemasters fondly back in the late 90's! 752 by Black prince every 20 mins Clarence Dock to Kirkstall Morrisons via Eastgate. And of course the 95 every 10 mins Bodington Hall to Leeds City Sq and extending every 20 minutes south of the river to Clarence Dock then. Now there is only two per hour if you are lucky on the 29!

Black Prince had 2 752s in it's time as that's the number used for the Morley Shopper route which linked the town to the Asda.

I should add that the assignment was partly about directing a crew, so the camerawork and editing was done with TV news pros at my direction! Lots I’d change about it (I hate the “wasted public millions” line - too simplistic) and I didn’t include the interviewee names as captions as a very strange deliberate creative choice. Still, yes - the nostalgia is great! I’d forgotten how odd those Black Prince vehicles on the 63B used to look.
