As the parcel limit would only allow small items & i don't think it was ever a largely used service i would guess most parcels would just remain in the cab or on the front dash area.

It was 50p for a parcel. You had to tell the driver where it would be picked up and the person recieving it had to be at the bus stop.
Initially the bus was a minibus with a manual door that passengers had to open themselves (the driver wasn't in a cab).
From its inception I was a regular passenger on a Thursday on the 1630 from Hebden Bridge which I used to pick up at Mytholmroyd (I travelled from Halifax to Ripponden, but used to finish work at 1600, just miss the 1600 bus to Ripponden so got the 1610 to Mytholmroyd - I got to Ripponden about the same time as if I'd got the 1630 from Halifax but without waiting around for ages and via a more scenic route. Once the 900 was full when I tried to board, so I got the train to Sowerby Brisge and the 1630 from Halifax).

The minibus with the manual door would of been the Green Merc Sprinter T59BUB (Think they one had the 1 one of them) bought during the later Rider years

I remember bigger buses being used on a weekend. I remember travelling on Dennis Dart-type bus on a Saturday in summer 2000 but think Olympians were used as well.

Yes, bigger buses were used on Saturdays and summer Sundays and the bus wouldn't divert off route. There was no winter Sunday service for the first few years of the route.

May I ask if the 900 has always a 'couple of journeys per day' route or was it ever more frequent like its 901 countererpart?

There was an X900 which operated the 901 route between Ripponden and Huddersfield (later extended to run from Rishworth) arriving Huddersfield at 0830. The 901 wasn't introduced for several years.

I Think the most frequent the 900 would of been was around 2011 time as from an old timetable I have heading Towards Ripponden it was Hourly during the afternoon peak (plus Mid-Morning), leaving Huddersfield at: 8:30,10:15,11:15,15:15,16:15 (To Rishworth),17:15 (Plus a 901 at 12:55) Returning from Hebden Bridge was a little more mixed, leaving at 7:30,9:50,11:35,13:15,16:35 (Plus a 901 at 14:00)

Is there a place called nont Sarah's on the 900 route I vaguely remember something on the 900 route as well as pole Moor I believe Both are on the 900 route. The Nont Sarah Hotel is now known as Chateau 1803. It's on New Hey Road. The 900 passes just above Pole Moor and is now the nearest bus route to it. A couple of routes have extended to it from Huddersfield in the past (though poorly promoted).
