Why is it that everything Electric has to be made to look so damn ugly?! Just keep the original relatively good looking (For a bus) E400 MMC and put the electric drive line technology in that. BMW has done this with their cars, the electric versions are the same body as the ICE counterparts but are electric.

I think the decker looks ok-ish, but the single looks like a cheap render from a council road planning video.

Personally I like the look of these, the front is much neater than the MMC to my eyes anyway

The E400MMC bodywork would have had to be redesigned anyway because of new requirements in London TfL are introducing from 2024 for better protection of pedestrians in accidents,at least this redesign is better than what Optare/Switch have done with the Metrocity.

i think globe are putting in for some new buses for 2023 Unless Globe win some of the next round of Zebra funding, I very much doubt they'll be ordering any of the new ADL EV Range. More likely it will just be more dealer stock E200MMCs

Gotta be one of the ugliest deckers I've ever seen. The front end looks like Jimmy Hill. Attachments:

The reason for the angled front is TfL's insistence on reducing impact on pedestrians in case of collisions.

I wonder once it’s built and we see it in the flesh. This will look better ( I hope ) Reminds me of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (car ) . Looks horrendous but actually looks better in the flesh. I’d like to see some of these in Manchester. Some of the existing E400s are chugging around from 2008/2009.

Won't happen, franchising in Greater Manchester means it is unlikely any company will be buying new buses until things are awarded. There is no point investing in a business that may have no long term future at all when other areas also need investment and won't be taken off you as soon as the new buses are delivered.

Pretty sure TFGM can still buy buses for them. It's not like there will be no new buses for GM.

Stagecoach have ordered new vehicles for Manchester, with Stockport getting 174 vehicles due late 2023 & First half of 2024 (bought under a deal with TGFM, where if Stagecoach don't get the franchise in 2025 TGFM will pay the full order cost) & 18 Diesel E400MMCs to Sharston depot due this year, rumoured to allow first batch of MMCs mostly used on 85/86/101 services to move to Sheffield.
