Link to photo? Also judging by the ammount of withdrawels taking place, I do think it is either for Halifax or Huddersfield. There are no new Streetdecks scheduled for Halifax or Huddersfield yet. However Huddersfield and possibly Halifax are "supposedly" receiving new Streetlite's to phase out the older B7RLE's and B7TL's. Halifax are due 5 B9TL Geminis from London.

Fair i'd rather have transfers from other operators than existing First vehicles.

First sold the London operation many years ago Sorry, I didn't make my statement clear enough. What I mean was that I was happy they are ex London ones because they must have come from another operator like Metroline or Tower Transit.

Username Well, they're likely to be ex-First London's then.

There was a batch 65 Gemini 2s delivered to First London in 2011 before the sale, with the batch ending up split between Go Ahead,Tower Transit & Metroline via the various sales in 2013. They are fairly unique in having bonded windows like the regional versions rather than Gasket like the other Geminis in London,so it should be easy to tell when they arrive if they was new to First or not.

There are still a number of 10-62reg Volvo B9TL / Wright combinations operating in London that were ordered by First .... but my guess is you will be getting Go-Ahead examples

Why would they buy 2nd hand, (have they ever done that?) When there's supposedly a raft of cuts coming across the UK which will free up plenty of vehicles?

Why would they buy 2nd hand, (have they ever done that?) When there's supposedly a raft of cuts coming across the UK which will free up plenty of vehicles? First have used the secondhand market from time to time when something they need turns up (ex Stagecoach Volvo Olympians, ex Jersey short Dart SLFs, ex Veolia Volvo Centros for instance) though normally these tended to be to upgrade more rural/marginal operations. Having been up to Yorkshire recently it was clear that there is an issue brewing due to the 'lumpy' investment over the years. There is still a large fleet of ageing B9TLs in the 07-09 age range (leaving aside the pre-07 B7's that should have been replaced by now) still widely on heavy duty front line services and it is difficult to see how First can afford to fund replacement without outside funding or undermining the rest of the country. The service cuts will barely make a dent in this and similar investment is needed elsewhere which will limit the availability of cascades from already announced ZEBRA bids so if a couple of batches of newer secondhand vehicles can be obtained to smooth the age profile of the fleet it buys some time. The issue First may find is that there isn't a lot on the market currently that is better aged, there were a year ago but not right now, my employer was looking to upgrade their small decker fleet and couldn't find anything sufficiently new enough to be worth making the investment (they were only a couple of years newer than what we had and would have meant we would have needed to start looking for replacements almost immediately)

Can't find anything on the Ensign Web page. But you can clearly see some Geminis behind the ex Huddersfield ALX they are selling.

37734 & 37735 Bradford to Halifax Has First Halifax suddenly turned into First Leeds having way more Double Deckers than single deckers. I guess thats a fair descision as currently there are now only 3 routes that can't have deckers rather than 5. Before it was 539, 542, 548, 549 and 587 but now it is 542, 548 and 549. Before someone attacks me saying 539 could have had deckers on, it couldn't because it interworked 587 but now it can as the 587 is now fully ran by Team Pennine.
