Wouldn't make a difference to me. Don't/Can't have Streetlites at my depot. Besides the Halifax long Daimler Streetlites are nice to drive compared the the short Cummins ones in Leeds. Although last time I drove either type was 4 years ago on loan. What other options would be able to replace the withdrawn vehicles? Would it just be newer versions of the same bus? We will just have the 695 Eclipse 2s and the 694 Eclipses at Todmorden and maybe the odd decker

Looks like electric buses are going to be arriving sooner than we thought! 111 electric buses ... sounds very much like a politician recycling Zebra funding news

Going by the final paragraph in the 2nd article,it sounds like 'phase 3' is still waiting to be funded (possibly going to be the next Zebra bid?),as Phase 1 (the Arriva/Transdev/First vehicles) & Phase 2 (the minibuses for Holmfirth,Hebden Br & Todmorden locals) have all been previously confirmed. If Phase 3 isn't being funded by the next ZEBRA round then i guess it could be coming out of the £70Mill BSIP funding West Yorks got.

The newer version is the GB Hawk but First has not brought a single on of those yet. That only leaves Enviro 200 MMC. However, maybe they could buy Streetdecks for Millwood.

Can't have too many deckers here because on all diversionary routes have a low bridge which modern tall deckers can't fit under. Example Littleborough would mean doing a diversion of a diversion going via Smithybridge and the Lake bank. Also we couldn't have Streetdecks at Tod for the same reason we can't have Streetlites. Wouldn't mind the Enviros here though they're well suited to the routes now they've been corrected.

We only have coolant and oil installations for Volvos & Enviros. The Streetlites & Streetdecks take a different kind of coolant plus Streetlites wouldn't be a sensible allocation, would have been ideal for 588 Stansfield via Shore though.

What is going to be replacing all these withdrawels? I am certain by the end of the year the only B7RLEs that will be left are the 55 (690s), 06/56 (692s), 09 (693/4s) and 13 (695s). Is the rumour true about the First Bradford 692s and 693s arriving for Halifax when the eleven Streetlites enter Bradford service to replace the Volvo B7RLEs? I should imagine the vehicle requirement in West Yorkshire will reduce rather significantly with the (yet to be announced) changes. There are some electric buses coming though, through the successful ZEBRA bid. There will be major fleet changes once majority of Volvo B7s are gone in autumn. But there are service reductions and cuts too as government funding to bus companies to get through covid pandemic comes to an end in October.

First Huddersfield 30953 Withdrawn, just two left Also 32466 & 32469 66790 withdrawn Seeing as though 32464 has recently been painted into HD Connect, it wouldn't surprise me if that's the next one to be withdrawn.

That may stop a on-off random allocation of a Wright vehicle to the depot but it would not be a reason to stop a more strategic fleet replacement/upgrade with Wright vehicles. They may have to upgrade the depot facilities but that could be justified by the ability to bring in newer vehicles and they may want to do it to support such an upgrade anyway.

With electric buses coming to all parts of West Yorkshire, I'd have thought installation of charging facilities in relevant places would have greater priority than any upgrade to alternative versions of a waning technology.

You can have the two Cummins Streetlites when they arrive, they take Green Antifreeze.

Unless they're damaged, it would be a fairly questionable decision to scrap them. Especially considering a bunch of other first areas have fleets just as old or even older than Halifax and Huddersfield.

The BT9Ls are to replace withdrawn stock.
