Who's to say they haven't? First have got both Arrival & Yutongs on order currently for other ops due this year & into next (Arrivals for Leicester/Portsmouth/York,Yutongs for Glasgow) so i'm it would make sense for Leeds to get one of them 2 models as its normally cheaper for them to order buses in bulk. Has first showed any interest in the electroliner? They sound and feel absolutely amazing!

Think all their current electric bid wins have been for SDs apart from the ADL E400EVs being introduced to Glasgow currently.

you'd have thought they'd have gotten more Yutongs for the single decks Who's to say they haven't? Well reading the artical it implies they are getting BYD e200sMMCs

First & Transdev were getting 32 single deckers each and Arriva 47 Double deckers on the submitted plans for West Yorkshire Zebra funding.

Well reading the artical it implies they are getting BYD e200sMMCs How did you get that from the article? Might have been from the image! However, it seems that the BBC have used that exact same image on other articles for electric buses. So I don't think it is accurate.

Just saw this on Facebook! Source: www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=5875703139123385&set=gm.5288879661198441For almost a week this bus has been running exclusively on the 503. Pretty sure a bus driver said on the forum says that there's going to be a major cut to a bus route in Calderdale. A few people seem to think it might be the 508. Since these vehicles are usually allocated towards that route, and a few of these vehicles were transferred over for the university bus, I think we may end up with these batch of vehicles. (If the route ends up getting cut of course!) This bus ended the day on the 370/371/372. This definitely isn't a reliable source but the depot on bus times has also changed to Old Fieldhouse Lane! Was also mentioned on the forum that we're going to see some massive fleet changes. I may be reaching but this seems like it is going to be one of them! Thoughts?

The Bradford Telegraph & Argus coverage of the ongoing Arriva strike has used a photo of two buses which going by the fleetnumbers are not in the Yorkshire fleet

Taken from Leeds Buses FB page
FIRST: Bramley's 32437 and 66766 have been withdrawn for scrap with parts to be recycled onto other vehicles. These mark the start of the end of an era of the vehicles as they will slowly bow out by September. The Geminis have served the city since 2004 having replaced Leyland Atlanteans and many have found further life outside of Leeds.
By September, 9 brand new Wright StreetDecks will arrive at Hunslet which will displace some of the B9 Geminis back to Bramley.

C. Coultas reports on Facebook that 66741; one of the most notable buses in the fleet, has been withdrawn.
66767 is also withdrawn.

I am certain by the end of the year the only B7RLEs that will be left are the 55 (690s), 06/56 (692s), 09 (693/4s) and 13 (695s). Is the rumour true about the First Bradford 692s and 693s arriving for Halifax when the eleven Streetlites enter Bradford service to replace the Volvo B7RLEs?

Why is it that First Halifax tend to repaint the older vehicles? Is it because most of the more modern vehicles like Streetlites and Enviro 400s were repainted in 2020 and First can't repaint recently repainted vehicles? Also if this is the case it would be a good idea to go for the 690s and 692s at Halifax as they were repainted 2018 which was four years ago.

I should imagine the vehicle requirement in West Yorkshire will reduce rather significantly with the (yet to be announced) changes. There are some electric buses coming though, through the successful ZEBRA bid.

Also does anyone know if First Halifax and Huddersfield will ever get a new bus in the next 5 years as they have been kicking about with old transfers that seem to only last around three months before Skircoat Road gets sick of them and Chuck's them for scrap.

Guessing that would depend on future Zebra bids or how far Brabin gets with taking back control of the bus network within the next 5 years

Really is the end of an era for the 667s. Most of which have never left Halifax and Todmorden their whole service life and the last large batch of single decks new for Calderdale. Good buses, will miss driving them. Good riddance to the 690s and 692s.

Besides the Halifax long Daimler Streetlites are nice to drive compared the the short Cummins ones in Leeds. Although last time I drove either type was 4 years ago on loan.

What other options would be able to replace the withdrawn vehicles? Would it just be newer versions of the same bus?
