13 train companies (edited as originally the idiot presenter who broke the news on BBC Scotland said 15) will be affected by nationwide strike action, including Transpennine and Northern. 89% of members who could be bothered to vote voted in favor of strike action with just 2 companies voting not to strike. No date given for the strike, but it will be massive.

So nearer 63% in favour - big difference.
And the other one - GTR, including Gatwick Express - voted for action short of a strike (as did all of the other companies plus Network Rail), which could still cause issues for passengers.

In most elections they only count the votes of those who voted, it's not expressed as a percentage of the electorate. This one had a very high turnout. |

In most elections they only count the votes of those who voted, it's not expressed as a percentage of the electorate. This one had a very high turnout. That's true for most elections – but strike ballots have to reach a threshold of those eligible to vote, not just of those who voted. |

CROSS-COUNTRY will be running from 09:00 approximately GRAND CENTRAL will be running some trains, but on a compulsory reservation basis. LNER will be running an hourly service Leeds–London during the day, limited hours of operation, last departure around 17:00. NORTHERN will be running hourly 07:30–18:00 approximately, but only on certain routes, including the North Bradford Electrics. www.northernrailway.co.uk/travel/timetables TRANS-PENNINE Manchester Piccadilly – York hourly 08:00–17:00 approximately, note between Stalybridge and Leeds this will be a mix of semi-fast and stopping trains. Britain’s rail network will go into shutdown on 27 July when workers at rail operators and Network Rail stage a 24-hour strike. This will continue into the next day 28 July.

RMT members at Network Rail and 14 train operators will strike for two further days on 18 and 20 August in the row over jobs, pay and working conditions, the union announced.

I dare say that people may wish it was a proper strike not overtime ban, at least with a strike there is a timetable and people know where they are, whereas the overtime ban is going to be ad hoc cancellations |

The revised timetables show the only services operating between 13 and 18th December, generally hourly, 08:00 until 18:00 each day. Many Northern services will be affected by industrial action between Sunday 18 December - 02 January, there may be short notice alteration to services. Please check before you travel as your usual train may not be running.

There will be very limited services on 24 and - 27 December, we advise customers to not travel on these days.

The interesting thing about the Xmas Eve strikes is the Airedale and Wharfedale lines won't see a service, yet have done on every other strike day as well as the next lot, I wonder why? |

Strike action for 30 March and 1 April has now been withdrawn.
Northern will revert to running standard timetable services on 30 and 31 March and on 1 and 2 April. They can be found on the timetable page or via journey planners.

Additional RMT strike day announcement Friday 2 June They can p*** right off with that one, how the hell are people able to plan for time off when this sort of sly tactics happen, I for one will happily give em some right stick on the picket line come that day, tossers should have to give 6 months notice to strike and only be allowed to strike one day every 6 months, this useless government are quick to act on soft protesters such as the Not My King brigade, but are too soft to act on Mick thingy Lynch and his gang. |
