What are the people’s most boring buses in the fleet? For me the 17xx Volvo B5LH Wright Eclipse Geminis are up there for me, and also the 10xx mini E200s. Yawn!

Most standard Arriva E400s. There's something that I find almost unbearable about them. I spent a lot of my uni days on the ones around Merseyside, predominantly on the 86s. Horrible things.
The ones in West Yorkshire are no better. 202/203 fleet: yack. Old 110 Sapphires: yack.

Personally, i just can't get excited by Solo's, them Mellor thingy's or Streetlamp WF's in any fleet. Whilst i know they fill a purpose i just see them as vans with seats and windows and not "proper" buses. My dislike of them is so much that I'd rather get a taxi than willingly board one of those.

100% Streetdecks, plastic junk. The Streetdecks are decent it's the top deck that's poor for those who are tall.

The e-leather seating, sticky floors, bland colour scheme and there's always a funky smell about them. But I would pick the 15 reg ones over the 58s any day.

I really like the Hybrids, I have a soft spot for them. I like the ride, find them really comfortable, and reliable for me when I've rode on them. Wish Castleford had them back. You can take them!

I suppose my hatred of vehicles of this ilk comes from the days of de-reg when YR replaced Fleetline's and Olympian's running on a 20 min frequency with Leyland Sherpa's with (Dormobile?) bodies running on an hourly frequency on my route. These nearly put me off bus travel for good.

One bus that I loved in the AY fleet that has now gone was the Olympuses, they was fantastic buses. They were comfortable, the ride was excellent, they could go fast when needed. Superb buses, I loved them, really great buses. I still miss them to this day. I want the Olympuses back. These were also my favourite , until I drove one - horrible to drive, worst things to drive now are those horrible horrible solo’s and the 229 sapphire E400’s , give me a fleet of Gemini’s any day !

Off topic for this thread but on topic for this post, has anyone seen the ex Yorkshire Olympus, 1811, which Arriva Midlands have painted into NBC Crosville livery for use at Oswestry? It's absolutely my era, and love the leaf green, just not sure about the black bumpers although their Olympians did have this feature. Think it would have looked better with green bumpers.

Slow at setting off once all the interlocks come off and the stop/start decides to work. Oh and the electric steering is way too heavy ! Penfold

I am also in full agreement with the 10xx Mini E200's. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, dreadful little things. I live on a route unfortunately, where e200minis can only be used, if the route was split perhaps, then they wouldn't need the minis to be used I hate the things. By the way 1004 is on the 163/166 this evening, if anyone is interested, poor passengers! The commanders are a bit boring, they're good if you get the right driver, if you don't then they're boring and slow. They are showing their age these things now. My 2nd route, also gets the commanders on all the time, so I travelled on 1409, 1411-1415 a lot recently. The Commanders are slow and showing their age but I could drive these all day. In fact, had one for 5 hours this very morning and was a pleasure to drive. Penfold

The 58 plates (and the recent Kent arrival) are brilliant. Quick off the mark, good brakes and lovely and warm. Penfold

Superb buses, I loved them, really great buses. I still miss them to this day. I want the Olympuses back. Always had a soft spot for the Darwens. They were nice and comfy apart from the cramped cab. The brakes were also keen and grabby when new but were later sorted so they werent quite as harsh and were much better. They were fairly nippy until EcoNoSpeed was fitted. Sadly though they were plauged with minor electrical problems and leaking cabs. Still miss them. Penfold

I really like the B7RLE's Hecky have. Excellent buses, find the ride very smooth, comfortable, an excellent bus for me. Seem really good for me whenever I've been on them. Would love for them to be at Cas. they wont be at Cas. Dewsbury were lucky enough to gain 1107-1112 alongside some ALX300s when the ALX200 Darts all got withdrawn.

When I was in the area in July the Arriva buses I was proudest to avoid were the ex-Kent Enviro 400s. The Lowlanders are horrendous but at least they are distinctive yet enjoyable to shun.
