Stagecoach have announced several cut backs due to driver shortages for this week, including the full suspension of the 755 Morecambe to Bowness service, journeys axed on local Whitehaven/Workington services, as well as other routes slashed in frequency such as the 599 to half hourly, and the X4/X5 to hourly. Luckily for Stagecoach, they've had no choice but to suspend a couple more routes due to an emergency road closure, these being the 77, 77A and 78 in Keswick saving a few more drivers for other routes.
Major news is also emerging of the closure of Ingleton outstation, with Stagecoach fully axing the 81 etc set or routes meaning no Stagecoach services in the Lune Valley out to Kirkby Lonsdale/Ingleton. I can't see this being a major problem to be honest as it takes far too long to reach Lancaster from Ingleton for example, and maybe a local service to Wennington train station every hour via the major areas with the rest served on demand would be better. There is also the Kirkby Lonsdale 581/2 as compensation as well, maybe they'll up that to hourly?
