I've known that Yorkshire Rider Wakefield ran the 498/9 Wakefield to Doncaster route, but I've been told by someone up Middleton recently that they possibly ran a Middleton to Wakefield service numbered 105 back in the mid 80s. Now, with this starting from Middleton, If they did run it I suspect it may have been ran by YR Leeds as an add on to one of the many Middleton services, rather than by Wakefield as the 498/9 were long enough anyway. I know that YR Leeds did run tendered journeys on the 187 Middleton to Wakefield bus on a night, and they did operate the Wakefield nightrider bus, so maybe it's possible they ran the 105 at the same time. However having said all that, YR Wakefield did run the 428/9 Rothwell to Morley route which put it well outside it's operating base so maybe Wakefield did run the 105.
Does anybody know the full history of Yorkshire Rider services either ran by Wakefield depot, or Leeds depots running routes in Wakefield?

From memory I think the Wakefield Depot was based at Kinsley On the 496/498 route. I think they had a small selection of Fleetlines/Atlanteans and Bristol VR’s and a handful of 5 Leyland Olympian Northern Counties F151-155XYG. Think some Dennis darts/ Plaxton pointer and possibly Scania Striders K625-629HUG were stationed there too as a guess for a period of time but not sure.

7001-7005 were at Kinley 1988. Also based there at sometime was the Northern Counties rebodied ex Bradford Fleetline 2352,& Leyland Tiger Plaxton Paramount 1627. Think there might had some of Duple Tigers from the 1651-1672 series there as well

Seen a photo today on Flickr of a YR Leeds bus with the destination 929 Wakefield in City Square on Xmas Day 1987! I always assumed the 92x numbers were nightrider routes, in the photo, it's next to another Leeds based bus. I know Metro did run some Xmas day buses back in the 80s, so perhaps they based these on nightrider routes?
