So what type of buses have we hardly ever saw in West Yorkshire? So types of buses that haven't been common in WY.
Citaros: I know First York have some citaros for Park and Ride, have we seen any others at all? I can't think of any apart from First York
Excels: I know Excels had a lot of teething troubles as I know the original batch at Blackpool had a lot of issues and had to be sent back from what I read on the Fylde Bus Blog. I don't recall seeing hardly any pictures or reading about any Optare Excels in West Yorkshire?
Can we think of anything else of types of buses we have hardly ever seen,
I wanted to make this discussion for quite a while to be honest, haven't got round to it. Trying to increase the discussion between the members

Trying to increase the discussion between the members Excels - BL Travel had a couple as did M Travel. A.Lyles & Son still have one FD02SEO in Longstaff livery which did workings on 205 & school but is now used only on schoolwork for St John Fisher School in Dewsbury.

Going back 40 years, there was the solitary Ailsa Volvo based at Halifax, although to be fair Independent of Horsforth bought and operated the 3 Tyne and Wear, and I think Black Prince had some. Then there was 7250, the sole NCME Dennis Dominator based at Huddersfield, and 7251 ex South Yorkshire PTE at Calderdale years later. Even further back were the 9 Leyland Worldmasters that Halifax operated, only Glasgow purchased any more.

Foden NC. Not many were made, only 1 saw service in W.Yorks.
Leyland's were everywhere, but the Cub and Swift were fairly rare (both based on the Terrier truck IIRC).
Dennis Dominator never found favour in our neck of the woods, apart from the bizarre transfer of an elderly one from mainline to Calderline.
Volvo B6 was quite rare with 5 new to Rider and a handful with keighley & Diustrict.

Why on earth I said 7250 was a Dominator, I am just putting down to age and senility. Lol. As for the Dominator, should have realised it wasn't 7251because that was a GM Fleetline. That's what happens when you rush a post!!!!!!!!

For more modern times.
Early Dennis Tridents - they now appear on a handful of secondhand operators, but at a time I don’t think anyone had bought Tridents from 1999 - 2006. Before the change to Enviro 400

Before the change to Enviro 400 Blackpool Transport bought tridents. 2002/2003/2006 I believe. Blackpool got rid of last theirs when new E400's City's came I think 2 years ago. I think all of them found new homes except the London ones. But if your talking about West Yorkshire then I'd don't know tbf.

Blackpool’s tridents I remember seeing them on the Blackpool route 14 when I was a Teenager Tridents were more of a Stagecoach’s main bus type Stagecoach really non existent in West Yorkshire ( I don’t count the 59 Wakefield - Barnsley , which at the time was Yorkshire Traction before 2005 and the newest buses at the time were Scania Omnidekkas ) First preference was the Volvo B7TL chassis and Arriva was DAF/VDL DB250 and again Volvos at the time for deckers.

Forward-entrance Bristol Lodekkas. Despite having a huge fleet of Lodekkas, West Yorkshire only ever bought one FSF (DX82, YWW 77) in 1960, it being one of two forward-entrance prototypes, the other being an FLF for Bristol Omnibus. DX82 was at one time a regular performer on route 31 Leeds-Keighley which passed my house. I spent many hours as a young child hoping to catch a glimpse of this wondrous machine (in my eyes). I managed at least 2 journeys on this vehicle and it could be quite amusing watching the other passengers heading for the back when trying to alight! Later it spent more time on route 34 Leeds-Ilkley before being exchanged with a contemporary boring FS (456 LHN) in 1967 from United Automobile. Somewhat later, West Riding, following its sale to the THC bought 27 second-hand FLFs from Bristol Omnibus in 1969/70 as replacements for the unfortunate Guy Wulfrunians. Another unexpected brief appearance with West Yorkshire was of 2 or 3 FLFs on loan from Trent in 1979/80, these had semi-automatic transmission instead of the standard synchromesh, but I can't find any details of the vehicles involved.

Seem to remember there were some FLFs run by Double Two Shirts in Wakefield as staff buses
