City Fields is the name of the new development going up around the Wakefield Eastern Relief Road, and the rest of the pictures look like they could easily be Wakefield, so my guess would be a new route to serve the new housing estates.

Not sure about the other 2 pics as Picture 2 looks like it's in a park so could it be summat with the Sculptre Park maybe?

No 1 is Leeds too - the building is the Blenheim Baptist Chapel on Blackman Lane, a road not currently served by Arriva (but not far from the X41 terminus at LGI). Anything running here would be very much in competition with First.

Buses already serve City Fields, although not very frequently. But given that the housing area is fast expanding there’s going to be a demand more a more frequent service for sure.

Looks like they was using 1413 or 1415 to test ideas for routes.

I cant see arriva going ahead with first because they have so many buses that way they would need a lot of buses and it would be risk specially in current times....... but what ever it is good to see they are looking to grow and hope not doing cuts

correct me if I am wrong but these are the X80 and the 108 revision, but I did wonder,
given various groups in Wakefield are calling for a service for City Fields/Neil Fox Way, I wonder what the potential services might be? extension of an Eastmoor bus perhaps? or a circular service? any thoughts?

I can see something like the 446 going from Pinderfields along the new road and into Wakefield via Doncaster Road, and/or something like one of the 14x buses going along the relief road and in to Wakefield via Pinders

Perhaps maybe they are running a bus between Dewsbury and Halifax again or maybe just to Brighouse. When Arriva withdrew their 278 service, they said that it wasn't used that much even though it clearly was. There is no bus currently between Mirfield and Brighouse except 228 which detours into Cleckheaton and doesn't run to Brighouse in Peak times.

The 228 carries a lot between cleckheaton and brighouse ( vice Versa ) and also has full loadings at college times along the route, it also inter works with the 261 “ shorts “, so it’s actually not that pointless

My goodness, Arriva starting new routes, whose idea is that? The operator is usually so quick to remove routes, not start new ones.

I don't know maybe it could be some Halifax contract gains as there are some school buses into Halifax even though they don't really operate there, however I am struggling to think of a route they can take on in Halifax? I mean they will probably add a FAST bus into Leeds and maybe a bus to Dewsbury and Wakefield if they operate in Halifax however I don't think they will take on aything.

It appears to be a random thread bump that has resurrected a thread that had been dormant since April last year, and no indication that Arriva are actually considering doing anything new at the moment.

Just been looking through all the posts and can't see where new route proposals in the Halifax area have come about, have I missed something?

A "Fast" or "express" to Leeds, although a logical idea, wouldn't work all that well as too many traffic delay possibilities on the route especially during the week BUT may work for a Saturday Only Option and that would be only if Arriva or any other operator sees it as viable.

I've also seen the 113 use it though numerous times. Looking on Google Maps alone it would be a possibility to say look to run the 187 & 188 that way to increase links to Normanton and leaving 189 for Doncaster Road side but any circular service would have to be infrequent to stand any chance of reliability BUT there is a good few options to run varied circular routes (that could lead to a possible good frequency) and could introduce new links but the main issue you've got is traffic delays at peak times and on the relief road heading towards either Doncaster Road or Nellie Spindler Drive there's no Bus Stops. Also extending the Eastmoor routes would not work either what so ever.
