Apparently all West Yorkshire Travel Centres have now opened, except Dewsbury and Wakefield.
These two are owned by Arriva I believe and heard today that neither of them will re-open at all and Metro has no interest in taking them on.
Can anyone substantiate this?

Arriva have just announced Wakefield and Dewsbury Travel Centres are permanently closed. My thoughts are with those who worked there as they might have lost their jobs, I don't know the full story regarding the staff, but my thoughts are with them if they have lost their jobs, awful times to lose their jobs in and my thoughts are with the customers who used the Travel Centres as well. I'm sure the Elderly or those who aren't good with technology are 2 examples I'm sure who would have used the Travel Centers a lot.

I think they are closing them all nationwide, where they still existed. I know Arriva NE’s Middlesbrough and Newcastle shops are also permanently closed

I know Arriva NE’s Middlesbrough and Newcastle shops are also permanently closed The one up in Redcar has been open during the pandemic as I used it in mid September, although I suspect that also doubles as a base for drivers. You'd think though that Arriva would offer the Wakefield and Dewsbury shops to Metro for them to rent out run both, or at the least have both still open but on a self service basis using print out's from the Metro website, wouldn't cost them too much to run electric wise and the print out's wouldn't cost that much either, after all who needs a colourful glossy leaflet to tell them when their bus will be coming?

That'll make it even harder for people to get undated Bus & Train and Family Daysavers. That takes it from 9 to 7 locations where you can buy them.

Well there's a struggle staffing the Metro ones too as the Halifax & Castleford ones are closed until further notice and Pontefract can struggle to run at times too.

I see the new Leeds travel centre has reopened, what to people think?
It’s pretty spartan that’s for sure
Also one thing that goes around and comes around is that the staff are behind glass again (probably got COVID to thank for that), like they used to be in the 90s before it was decided to be open plan
They are also building a new travel centre at Bradford Interchange and there are also plans to change the one in Huddersfield as well

Arriva's Wakefield travel centre never reopened after the lockdowns as far as I know and has been in the hands of Caledonian Travel for some time so there is zero chance of Metro opening a travel centre there. Caledonian Travel do NOT provide any information for local services and are purely interested in marketing their own tours. An electronic device has been provided by Metro but how it works and what information it provides I have no idea as I haven't attempted to use it. You have to wonder why Caledonian Travel don't want to provide local information. After all once you're in their shop you may decide to book one of their tours.

Leeds one doesn't fully open until October. What do you mean by fully open? It looks open to me Been confirmed by Metro it will be fully opened and stocked in October which would seem to me is still having some works to complete.
