just doing a bit of research and just a few things i cant find any information about, wasn't the precursor to the Coastliner a service which just ran Scarborough? and weren't the Coastliner services originally 74x as opposed to 84x? also was the 845 made into an infrequent service to accommodate the 844 in 2009?

Services ran for many years to both Scarborough and Bridlington since at least the 40s. I'd have to look up services to Whitby before the 90s. At times they've run from further afield than Leeds - from Bradford (and for a while from Manchester!). The X25 ran Manchester to Scarborough from 1929 - davidbeilby.zenfolio.com/p954256445 There was also a Manchester to Bridlington, but not via Leeds, York and Malton. In 1974 the services were: 843 - Manchester to Whitby 844 - Northwich to Scarborough 845 - Manchester to Bridlington 846 - Manchester to Filey I'll see if I can find any of my old timetables towards the end of the week. (I've a feeling the 74x services were from Bradford to the East Coast, not via Leeds).

The service pattern I remember from the 1970s was
43 Leeds - Scarborough Also from Bradford twice a day via the WYRCC 30 route i.e. Greengates
92 Malton - Whitby
44 Leeds - Bridlington don't know how often these were
The 46 York - Hull bus may have run through from Leeds
The WYCC scheme renumbered to 743, 744 and 746 but the Bradford leg was dropped.
Later revisions saw most Scarborough buses run limited stop up to York with the number 843 , the Thornton Dale/Whitby bus start at Leeds as an 840, 845 as Leeds to Bridlington with the 744/746 cut back to start at York.
Later the network simplified , the number 743 was not used, with the 843 used for all Scarborough buses, becoming a normal service bus.

The 845 has been an infrequent service for at least 20 years. The 2000 timetable shows only 2 journeys a day, and AFAIK it has never had more than three journeys since then. If you go back to 1983, Coastliner ran the 743, 842 and 843 to Scarborough, with the 842 and 843 being limited stop variant routes. United ran the 92 between Whitby, Pickering and Malton, but there were no through services to York apart from summer-only Moorsbus services.

43 Leeds- Scaraborough, 2 journeys starting back from Bradford 44/45 Leeds Bridlington (Joint with East Yorkshire) 46 Leeds - Hull via York (Joint with East Yorkshire) 91 Leeds - Whitby. But a lot of short journeys Malton - Thornton Dale and Malton - Whitby. Joint with united 92 was a local Whitby - Sleights
this lot together made the half hourly Leeds - York service They went from stand 1 at vicar Lane. There were queues down Vicar lane on summer Saturdays, and WY hired in loads of coaches to satisfy demand! Also express services Bradford-leeds - east coast. went from Bean Ings car park - where the Yorkshire Post building was built.
This from 1966 WYRCC timetable on timetableworld(dot)com

Did coastliner used to operate a service that ran Keighley to Scarborough via Bradford, Leeds, (York?) Brid & Filey? Service 841 I think? I Used it a few times back in the 90’s I think.
Also, In the 90’s if my memory serves me right did a service run from Leeds or Bradford to Blackpool via Keighley then perhaps via Burnley & Preston? I can’t remember the service number. Was it the 201?
Also, did one run from Bradford to Morecambe aswell during the 90’s?

I've a timetable from a long time ago (60s?) showing up to 4 a day from Leeds to Blackpool via Keighley and Steeton. I'll see if I can find more details and the number.

I caught the 200 from Keighley one year - I think it left at 0900 - and I managed to get 2 buses with my sister before getting it to Ingleton.

J1 and J2 ran via Bradford to Blackpool via east Lancashire towns and Lytham etc in the 1960s. Some J1 services continued to Fleetwood. National Express had a route 296? via Halifax and east Lancashire towns (Burnley, Accrington etc) in the 1980s

I'm not sure if that would be this (the stop was at the bottom of station road so would be tricky for that).
