So YT have withdrawn 5 services (all four uni ones and the 401), lost four services (900/901/911/933) and are running 757 24/7 but withdrawn some morning and evening services. So leeds will be running 38, 59, 60a, 61, 61a x63, 75, 75a, 76 and the airport trio and schools. That may explain the possiblity of reshuffle of the fleet. We'll have to until july to see if leeds shuts and moves as july is when the school changes start if my i remember correctly.

July is also when the next Leeds bus review is due, the 38, 59 in part, 60A, 61/A, X63 an the ASDA trio are all mainly tendered I think, out of all those only the 59 has a significant commercial element.

I've also just twigged as to another members comment about First not making the 95 work when it was first put on here that YT were pulling out of university services, I think he was on about the 92 as that's a service First ran to Beckett but not that successfully.

I'm surprised that LOT are taking the BCB sown to half hourly. I've caught it a handful of times recently from the Forster Square area up to the Ice Rink side of town and it usually has at least a dozen people on it. I'm not sure they'll all bother with that sort of wait.

They've obviously decided there is no point running them at a reduced frequency across the summer. I'm not sure you can assume they are withdrawn for good. School service changes tend to start in September, funnily enough. Many of Tiger's are run on a commercial basis though.

The school year finishes a fortnight before the July changes so they start getting reviewed in july and the changes and withdrawments are announced for september and universites dont until june so why withdraw a month early if the services are used so much as it would make sense to wait until they've fininshed and the students return home.

YT university services, although popular during the day in term time, might not have made enough to cover for losses made during term holiday, evenings and weekends. Saw many buses empty on Saturdays, additionally the 401 is linked with the Killingbeck ASDA contract, seems a bit strange that this service gets withdrawn at the same time as uni services, are they about to give up the Killingbeck contract?

Has the been a change of operator. VOSA on line recently had a registration by LOT for the 933(Meltham circular) starting with the service changes in May. WyMetro website has the list of service changes in May. The 933 is shown as currently operated by Yorkshire Tiger/LOT and then states that the service will be operated by Stotts from the day of the changes. Can anyone confirm is the WyMetro site is wrong.

Would be quite easy to do bearing in mind after binning Uni services the majority of work left is tendered, this being up for review in July. The commercial work on the 59 could easily be tagged onto 757 journeys.

That would make more sense of the other thread saying YT were moving to Idle, if there are only airport buses left this would be the perfect place for a small depot although I am struggling to think of an available site.

That was my first thought but that spot is in the middle of redevelopment at the moment and the last I heard was it's going to be an Aldi & B&M

I swear I have psychic powers... For my next trick, I bet Transdev will move in to take over some of their routes.
Anyone know if the 781 (Leeds - Otley) is being cancelled?

The 781 is a tendered service so will probably continue 'til July when it will be up for review/retendering. It was going to be withdrawn in July 2013 but Metro received quite a sizeable petition to keep it so they put it out to tender which Tiger won. My own sightings of this service seem to show it as having variable use, on some days it's almost empty and on others it's almost full! Think Otley market day could be a determing factor, also on the Leeds inbound journey it picks a few up between Alwoodley and Moortown but these people aren't dependent on it, they just catch it because it came before the 7A. Think we'll see what happens in July.

Maybe there is some logic in advertising Harrogate- Knaresborough- Ripon- Boroughbridge- York as a through route, visually making the point that you don't have to change buses in an age where "connecting" bus services are, to put it nicely, thinning out. But I can't think how you going to convey that on a blind without confusing people.

But I can't think how you going to convey that on a blind without confusing people. I just can't figure out what 'through journeys' passengers can make that will actually be of any value. To Harrogate from anywhere other than villages between Littlethorpe and Scotton, you would be better off using 1a or 36, even if it involved a change, than following this circuitous route on a scenic tour of half the district. Perhaps when the timetable is published it will make more sense!
