It shows a code NS at the end with no reference to what it means. Is it sats only or Not Sats?

My prediction is that it will be withdrawn by April next year as the Broadway will take a lot of Bradford and possibly Pudsey custom from White Rose. More buses from Pudsey to Bradford as well!

Sorry I ment there are more buses to Bradford than there is to White Rose for Pudsey residents so they'll choose Broadway over White Rose for that reason as well.

But White Rose is been expanded too with new cinema and restaurants about to be built. Although saying that, I've never seen a full 711 at the White Rose end. Not sure how full it is towards Bradford?

Not sure how full it is towards Bradford? Gets a good lower deck full on most trips bradford end,i remember the short lived 710 that when via old farnley got decent loads on some of trips I was on,a few even got busier than 711! But if the 711 was going to get killed off by the opening of a new shopping centre, wouldnt of it have happend when trinity leeds opened? I mean pudsey is hardly short of buses going into leeds!

Well it'll make the full route to WR less viable, you'll probably find a few still wanting to travel all the way to boring WR but not as many, especially from Bradford. Can't really see a cinema in a shopping centre being much of a pull for someone travelling from Bradford, and as stated Pudsey residents would be better going to Trinity if they wanted that sort of thing, more frequent buses taking roughly same time.

With the way the 711 is scheduled, interworked with various educational contracts, indicating it is a more marginally costed route and as such doesn't need a huge number of passengers to keep it live (effectively the school work pays for the vehicle & much of the drivers pay so the work built around it needs to cover the fuel & a bit of extra pay). There will still be some people who will want to go to White Rose (bus passengers & shoppers have never been ones to always follow the logical course of where to travel to) so there will remain some residual traffic there but you may see an increase in traffic towards Bradford from points on the 711. There is little benefit in cutting the 711 back, you would have to cut back most of the route to make any resource difference, and there are enough passengers who don't have a degree of loyalty (concessionary & multi-operator pass holders) and as such will catch the first bus along that there is a good chance that they can get a good enough share of the Bradford traffic to make up any shortfall in the White Rose direction.

Not sure how practical it would be but I wonder if any thought had been given to interworking the 711 with the university 99 service.

Much prefer the White Rose and Pudsey folk can use the No.9 which does run during term time unlike the 711.

The 60 also had gaps at school time and had deckers allocated to some journeys due to school contracts, and that has been withdrawn recently. As I result Leeds depot probably have a number of double decks sitting idle between schools now.
Regarding interworking with the 99, it would still need the same number of buses as now, and introduce dead running from the Interchange to the University so I can't see any benefit. The first and last 711 journeys are run by one of the service 99 buses now anyway.

I know it wouldn't save a bus, however it could save drivers having to travel to and from the service, which could be significant if they are sending the driver all the way to and from Leeds.

Read on one of the other forums that Yorkshire tiger won't be operating this after February so looks like they can't make it work either
