Actually Fagley buses are now every 10 mins --613 and 614 each every 20 minutes -- they were increased when the 612 was dropped from the Great Horton Road family a while ago! What is puzzling is presuming the 613/614 will run Buttershaw - Shipley will these be every 10 minutes combined or every 15 minutes combined as existing 612 frequency. 613 & 614 (weekday ) will each run half-hourly Shipley - Buttershaw (starting back at Shipley every 15 mins) 622 623 & 626 as current timetable north of Bradford but will not run through to Wyke, etc. Details of the new Fagley - Brighouse/Scholes services will be announced at the Bradford area WYCA meeting on 16th October.

Wonder what the thinking is of severing the link between Bingley/Shipley and Wyke/Scholes/Brighouse which has existed for years?
Can't see there being much demand from residents of Wyke, Baliff Bridge etc for a direct link to Fagley!

Noticed with a lot of the Bradford changes, routes will in many cases be shorter (Fagley to Brighouse/Scoles instead of a much longer Eldwick to Brighouse/Scoles, Bradford to Pudsey via Thornbury instead of aa slightly longer Clayton to Gain Lane via Thornbury) and some sections will have a slight frequency reduction, e.g. 613/4 now every 15 mins instead of 10, revised 611 every 15 mins Bradford to Thornbury replacing a 10 min frequency on current 636/7. These changes could be to address reliability.

I expect they've had issues with the 622/3/6 for a while, hence why they added 1 extra bus into the cycle which resulted in the daft situation of buses changing route at Bradford northbound only. The way to solve this would have been to add another bus but they presumably didn't want to do this.
Whereas the current route will encounter traffic at various points I imagine Bradford to Fagley is a clear run. I doubt there will be much through traffic, the main reason of linking the Brighouse route to something else, will be presumably to maintain the route using Market Street.
A question will be I wonder if the route will use the Interchange Fagley bound or use Hall Ings.

Has the service to Scholes ever extended through to Cleckheaton? The town centre is only 5 minutes away and services a much larger population area.

No. When the original 624 (half hourly) timetable was developed, it may have just been convenient to turn at Scholes (time-wise) or a previous survey may have suggested it was worth running a bus to Scholes. I don't know why the service started I did not take an interest in that side of bus operation at the time. At the time there may have been a regular YWD service between Scholes & Cleckheaton or maybe they felt that it was encroaching on YWD territory or that it would not be viable to run the extra mileage.

I have a copy of a Kirklees District Metro Timetable dated from October 1978 until further notice, and back then there were 4 services that ran between Scholes & Cleckheaton, they were: 229 Batley - Scholes 249 Morley - Scholes 258 Heckmondwike - Scholes 540 Halifax - Cleckheaton.
There's no mention of any service back in 1978 of a service from Scholes towards Bradford, so when did the 624 begin? Hmm

There are a few comments on page 2 about the 324. The changes are as a result of retendering by Metro of the last 2 journeys Mon-Sat and last 3 on Sunday which operate as a 321 via Maten Nest. According to a driver First have lost the retendering and another operator is taking over these journeys. This may cause problems to travellers with First "season" tickets when they try to use them

Looking at some of the changes on the Metro Journey Planner (670/671 change was one but already mentioned above). There may be more details next week when the timetable dates should be updated beyond 26 October:
*321: Tiger Blue to run last journey on service 321 from Meltham. No mention (yet) on the last two journey from Huddersfield *341/341A: TLC Travel takes over service 341 but with morning journeys re-timed and afternoon service running every 2 hours. The last Sunday journey is withdrawn. Service 341A will run between Huddersfield and Almondbury only, running every 2 hours in the afternoon plus one morning journey. *356: Yorkshire Tiger takes over evening and Sunday service from First. *358: Yorkshire Tiger takes over evening and Sunday service from First. *360: Tiger Blue to take over late Mon-Sat evening and all Sunday journeys from First. First to run journeys until 1858 from Brackenhall and 1935 from Huddersfield. *377: Taken over by TLC Travel and curtailed to run between Huddersfield and Mount (no longer serving Outlane) *542: Yorkshire Tiger will run one evening journey from Halifax to Siddal at 2327 weekdays or 2227 Sundays and two early morning journeys at 0513 and 0618 weekdays and 0823 and 0848 Sundays (unable to see Saturday timetable yet). *576 and 613-614: In addition to the 613/614 re-routing to Shipley via Five Lane Ends instead of to Fagley, services 576 and 613/614 will swap routes heading in and out of Bradford. Service 576 will run along the full length of Great Horton Road, while 613/614 will run via Horton Park Avenue, Easby Road and Morley Street. *626: Hourly evening and Sunday service introduced between Baildon and Bradford, replacing service 625.

Note that the 613 & 614 will run via Horton Park Avenue on journeys TO Buttershaw only. It does seem a good decision to re-route the 576 via the College & University as this is now the more frequent service. Traditionally the Buttershaw buses showing 'via Gt. Horton Road' as a painted board since 1955. The Queensbury service has gone via Easby Road since tram days (1901) !

Interworking with 536/537 perhaps? I see they are introducing late night buses from Brighouse to Elland. There was a campaign in the local press to introduce this about 6 months ago, as a well informed traveller pointed out that buses otherwise run dead at that time. Commercial journeys to Siddal is also a new initiative. On the other side of the coin, It's quite sudden that the 60 is being withdrawn. Does this mean no buses along the traditional '90' route from Pudsey to Greengates via Woodhall and Calverley? I see the 61 is being extended to run to/from Leeds again.

It might be wrong because those changes in Metro's leaflet are written quite badly, but it sounds as if Brighouse to Bradford is being reduced to hourly evening and Sunday's.
Evening wouldn't be a surprise, although I'd hope they've got it 30 mins away from the 363 and not on top of it.
Sunday daytime would be a surprise cut though, as services at these times tend to get improved not reduced these days and Sunday shopping in Bradford is about to go from non existent to quite extensive.

This raises more questions than gives answers which ultimately I assume will only be answered when we can view the timetables.
60, As referred to above I thought that the Pudsey to Greengates section of this route was tendered, in which case where is the replacement or has funding been removed?
613/614 is as expected but with no mention of route frequency as in other descriptions, is this Metro burying a frequency reduction at the Buttershaw end.
670, again no mention of the short working's between Leeds and Calverley mentioned above, could this provide a solution to the 60 problem by diverting to serve Woodhall via the ring road and Dawsons Corner, I doubt it but it could provide a partial solution to a lost link.
675/677 What are they on about, are they saying that all 675's will now be numbered 677 but with some to Cottingley and some to Shipley Glen which would be strange, if this is the case why not just alter the route in Windhill but leave the two route numbers as they are now to avoid confusion?. Alternatively are they just trying to say all buses will operate via Owlet Road, although that's via the current 675 route, not the 677 which has always used Crag Rd as far back as I can remember?

Correct, and while the strikes were going on, the official line from First Bradford was that services would see improvements in line with the opening of Westfield. I'm looking at these changes and all it appears to be is tinkering with some frequency reductions, i.e 613/614 & 671. The more I see, the more I think the unions were being more truthful throughout that dispute. It was true that bus reliability was very bad at that time with numerous cancellations every day. The Streetlites were promised for July but actually entered service right at the end of August. Now this, both Arriva and Transdev have rebranded some of their Bradford routes in recent months, First Bradford's seem to just be carrying on the same way with a few tweaks, another broken promise. Add that to the, what I can only descibe as cynical, rises to child ticket prices straight after the school holidays. I am feeling a little disenchanted with First Bradford at the moment, and I would normally count myself as a First fan, and do normally disagree with most of the First bashing which goes on on this forum and others.
