Delays in the development of Get Me There, which will be Manchester's equivalent of the Oyster card (or West Yorkshire's M Card) and should have been in use on Metrolink this summer, followed by buses next year and trains at a later date. TfGM have terminated the contract with Atos, who were given the job to design, build and operate the smartcard system. This will mean the release dates of the smartcard will be delayed and will mean the smartcard readers will continue to only be used by concessionary passholders at Metrolink stops. www.tfgm.com/Corporate/media_centre/Pages/News.aspx?articleId=740p

Progress has been made in the last week with regards to get me there. Last week, a get me there app was launched for use on the Metrolink tram network. Passengers can now buy day and weekend tickets for the whole network plus weekly tickets between two stations. Single and returns will follow at a later date. From today (17 November), a get me there smartcard has now been launched. The smartcard was resurrected following a pledge by Arriva, First and Stagecoach to deliver the product by the end of this year. Currently, only the SystemOne day, weekly and monthly tickets are available on the smartcard, at a reduced price compared to buying day tickets on the bus or weekly/monthly tickets at TfGM Travelshops or Paypoint locations. Further tickets will be available at a later date. www.getmethere.co.uk/index.phpwww.tfgm.com/Corporate/media_centre/Pages/News.aspx?articleId=826www.tfgm.com/Corporate/media_centre/Pages/News.aspx?articleId=833

Some improvements have been made on the getmethere smartcard and app. As of this Monday (8 February), getmethere smartcard 7-day and 28-day tickets can now be bought from Paypoint locations across Greater Manchester. Previously, 7-day tickets could only be bought from the driver or TfGM Travelshops, while the 28-day ticket was only available from Travelshops. As of today (11 February), passengers now can buy Metrolink single, returns and 28-day tickets on the getmethere app. Previously, only 1-day and weekend network tickets and 7-day stop-to-stop ticket could only be bought. www.metrolink.co.uk/pages/news.aspx?newsID=268
