Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think the 11:35 to King's Cross today was hauled by 67004 out of Leeds.

1E20, the 1500 Edinburgh Waverley was also hauled by 67004 between York and Doncaster via Leeds. Short on HST's?

There isn't enough HSTs to run the full hourly Edinburgh - Kings Cross service + the ones that have to be HSTs for the Aberdeen and Inverness. They only way they could do it is by running it in 2 parts say Donny to Edinburgh with HSTs with an electric doing the Kings Cross to Donny section but that takes extra time and platform capacity at Donny so the easiest way is to loco haul

It's always the case when services are diverted, loco haulage is a must as VTEC (and EC, NXEC and GNER before them) have always used the minimum of diesel sets and the extra running time of the diversionary routes stretch them beyond the limit.
Interestingly, on the subject of 67's, a NR test train passed through Keighley this afternoon top and tailed by 2 67's, one in Wrexham & Shropshire/Chiltern colours and the other either the same or the silver livery applied by EWS for use with their own executive set (67005, IIRC).

Either that or a 142 failed and they didn't want to run a single 142 so nabbed a 158 to maintain capacity?

very strange. There is normally a 32x diagramed on a Saturday. But to send 2 142s out is very out of the ordinary. Wouldn't surprise me if there is a 333 been prepared out of sight on Neville Hill for a big reveal on 1st April

Praying pair of pacers will be out tomorrow but doubt it due to engineering works.

There was a TPE 185 on platform 2 this afternoon with passengers on it. Never seen one in that bay platform before. The 13:17 Leeds-York (12:06 out of Manchester Airport) was running late due to something with the crew and got to Leeds 30 mins late so they decided to terminate at Leeds to avoid further delay and then stayed for 38 minutes and did 14:20 eeds-Manchester Airport. Info off Realtime trains.
