I know when i visited Cardiff at the end of June, I used a waterbus service from Cardiff Bay to Cardiff city centre. It was operated by a company called Aquabus and cost about £4 for a one way ticket (I believe return tickets are discounted). The journey took about 20 minutes, and was a nice alternative to the Scania bendy-bus which i caught from the city centre bus stn to Cardiff Bay. I hope other towns & cities catch on and make use of their waterways, because properly run, like the Cardiff operation, it could tempt commuters out of their cars (not everyone likes to use buses, or trains).

I've used the Leeds water taxi. Normally run by 2 boats brought across from Amsterdam I believe. Makes a nice change.only runs on a weekend and is paid for by the company who took over Clarence dock or whatever they are calling it these days
