A thread borrowed from the TSY forum
Have there been any destinations listed on First WY/Yorkshire Rider blinds that they never ran to or any unusual ones that haven't seen a terminating service in decades
These days with electronic screens, they update regularly, but things were more permanent in the days of blinds

I'm sure before the Striders lost their dot matrix destination screens in favour of the LED, the programme list mentioned Barnsley and many other unusual destinations.

Wouldn't Barnsley have been on there from the X32 days?

X84 A few month back heading to Leeds City Rail Station at around 1945!!! Only possible vehicles these could have been displayed on, is either the ex London "J Reg" Olympians or one of the few non Led dartsor maybe one of the few Scania/Striders that have the Bright-tec destinations still fitted. The rest are all pre-programmed sop it's not possible to do it on them. In the past to really confuse people when I'm running private, I used to put up "498 Doncaster"!!!! It got quite a few funny looks.

Would of that destination been possible in the days when Rider had an operating unit at Wakefield to compete against Caldaire which was shut down after Arriva retreated from north Leeds etc. with routes they inherited from K-Line/Taylor's.

First Huddersfield Dennis Lances have 'M1 Meadowhall/Sheffield' I don't know if this has been removed from the blinds.

You are confusing 2 occasions there. Yorkshire Rider Wakefield was sold to West Riding in 1997 as it was a small depot and hardly core work. A few exchanges took place which ended up with Leeds City Link taking the 223/224 Halifax to Leeds routes They then gave this up in a deal with Arriva K Line in 2000

Although was this ever proven as a 'deal' between First and Arriva, because it all turned out to be purely coincidental?!
