It opened today. Tomorrow is the 'official' (i.e ceremonial) opening. Yes I know. Though it was mentioned in press releases it was the official opening today, Monday, Colander got it wrong and made out there were no trains yesterday!!

The new May 2018 timetable sees an increase in frequency at KLF, but the Ilkley trains will cease to call.
Kirkstall Forge is to be half hourly on the Bradford Forster Square trains (weekday evenings on the Skipton stopper service TBC)

A proposal for a reopened station at Cross Hills has been abandoned after costs estimated at £9 million in 2015 rose to £23 million in 2017, costs associated with resignalling made the project unviable.

That does not bode well for Elland which I believe may have similar costs

Thorpe Park is definitely happening. The most important station and catchment area.

I am tempted to ask what information you have that Thorpe Park is definitely happening as it is an important station and catchment area.

Flaxby Park Ltd has acquired the building at the former Goldsborough station on the York – Harrogate line, with a view to reopening the station under the name Flaxby Parkway to serve a planned property development. ‘The transport provision at Flaxby Park is a major feature of our development and acquiring the original station house and securing the support of Northern are both key milestones in our ambitions to create a new park and ride station that will benefit the whole area’, said director Matt Johnson.

I'm still not convinced this will actually happen. It is supposedly 6 months since the outline business case was submitted to WYCA and we seem to be no further forward which is making me think they may have decided again that it is too expensive

There is no capacity on the two track railway to start stopping some trains at a new station.

There has been talk of 4 tracking it, at least as far as Neville Hill, but that'll be many years off if it happens.

Here's a wild thought.
Why can't they design and build a proper bus/coach/train interchange on the site of the current bus/coach station?
The topography is perfect, buses and coaches at ground level with elevated railway track above. With trains being able to terminate from both east and west.

Especially with Quarry House being on the doorstep, and would be such an ideal commuting station for the people of Burmantofts, Richmond Hill, Harehills and even St James too. This would mean not having to cross the city centre to get into Leeds railway station.

www.leeds-live.co.uk/news/leeds-news/green-light-22-million-white-18443014White Rose Station is set to go ahead, expected to be completed by 2024, with 2 trains per hour calling there, and is likely to see Cottingley station being closed as it's only about ¾ mile away, although that would give most people who use the station now an extra 10–20 minute walk to get to the new site. It depends, if they literally mean 2 trains per hour then it is just a direct replacement for Cottingley, with a stop each way on the hourly TransPennine-that-ought-to-be-Northern between Leeds and Huddersfield, which looks pretty pointless. On the other hand, if they mean two trains per hour each way, maybe also stopping the Northern service from Leeds to Wigan via Brighouse – which does already call at Morley and Batley, and is nicely spaced from the existing stopper – that would be a real improvement.

There was talk of retaining Cottingley, but reducing it's service to 1 or 2 trains towards Leeds in the morning peak and 1 or 2 back in the evening peak to cater for commuters, save them having to walk up to the WRC, but we shall see.
