Proposed new rail station at Low Moor
The site for the proposed station is New Works Road off Cleckheaton Road in the Low Moor area, approximately 3 miles south west of Bradford city centre. The station will be situated on the Caldervale Line between Bradford Interchange and Halifax Rail Stations.
Subject to Planning Permission being granted, the detail design of the rail station will begin later this year with a view to the station being in operation during the December 2015 Timetable. Current plans are for the Selby--Bradford--Huddersfield service to call here only (based on the current timetable there is no lee-way for an additional stop in the semi-fast services).

As an ex-Ilkley line commuter, I can't help thinking that pathing on the Leeds-Apperley Junction section is going to be a nightmare, particularly in the peaks when there are already some very tight headways. The 1732 from Leeds was particularly vulnerable to conflicting movements (usually the incoming unit to form the 1735 Bradford and any delay to the 1729 Harrogate) which made for some lively connections with the 967 at Menston.

The addition of two extra stops on Leeds-Forster Sq services will need at least 2 minutes added to journey times between Leeds and Shipley, so one would presume when the stations become operational, the timetable would be adjusted to allow for that.

Elland station is one step nearer, the matter was discussed at HADRAG's latest meeting and Network Rail,Metro and Calderdale Council are all on board. Network Rail said it can be done in the next CP, so its looking good for Elland being put back on the railway map, although not before time, it should have been done when the line re-opened to passenger traffic. I assume it'll be in the Lowfields area and there is a small article in the latest edition of 'Rail' on it.

The current May 2015 timetable allows time for the stops. Apperley Bridge is scheduled to open in September 2015. The regular Bradford FS -- Leeds service will call. On Monday to Saturday evenings most Skipton -- Leeds locals will call. (based on current timings ) KLF should also see similar calls, plus Monday to Saturday only hourly calls on the Ilkley -- Leeds trains.

Did anyone notice on Look North the Low Moor station had the old Transperience Transport Museum in a few shots. The bus workshops/sheds and a full view of the road under the bridge.

All going to plan, official date is still being confirmed, or at least Northern TrainCrew haven't being told. Driver training has commenced as of a couple weeks ago, platforms nearly complete with waiting shelters and passenger information screens installed on both UP and DOWN lines.

Thanks. The access road & bus turning circle are open on Monday (according to the public notice ) - with the opening supposed to be this month (September ) just surprised that there hasn't been a definite date yet.

On my travels I also passed the Low Moor site, nothing much to report just a lot of vegetation clearance and groundworks, nothing tangible.

Nothing up about Apperley Bridge. Local councillors asking questions. Latest Metro update mentioned opening sometime after the December timetable change.

As for Apperley Bridge, its paperwork from HMRI Inspectors and Network Rail preventing the station opening sooner, but the locals will be pleased
