Come in & make immediate changes.
Stick to whats worked & the recognisable brand, build trust and then make changes - that's what I'd do.
Unsure whether the heritage fleet was part of the sale, but they've all been disposed of which is disappointing.

I can't find my February edition of Buses magazine but I think it reported that the Bristol Lodekka was for disposal as such vehicles were never operated by EYMS but preserved vehicles that were originally in the operational fleet would be kept. News section in the March edition confirms it the Bristol is for sale.

Unsure whether the heritage fleet was part of the sale, but they've all been disposed of which is disappointing. Hardly immediate, it has been about 9-months since the purchase was announced (June 2018) and the first change to the operation is this livery change, which when all things are considered is a fairly minor change that appears to go along with your suggested way of going - make minimal changes, let everyone get used to the new owners (& make sure the new owners understand the business) and then start making adjustments - amd a livery is a relatively visually obvious but not operationally impactful way of taking that first step. I must admit I was expecting the first thing they would do would be a re-brand of one of the core services in GNE style rather than a new livery for the whole fleet. I quite like the livery and yet I'm not entirely sold on it for EYMS either, I probably would have like a bit higher proportion of maroon included, but they were always going to update the company image. I think we can all agree that the old livery was quite dated in style (whether you think that a positive or negative) and whilst it worked for the traditional image that EYMS were happy to project when independent it was never going to sit well with the more innovative Go-Ahead way of working (and would risk seeming false for a big group company to appear to be 'hiding' behind old imagery). With the heritage fleet it appears that they are getting rid of the 'leisure vehicles' (by which I mean the ones not closely connected to historic EYMS but largely in the fleet for private hire purposes) but retaining the actual company heritage fleet. Vintage vehicle hire tends to revolve around special events which need a personal touch that is difficult for larger companies to achieve, I'm sure Go-Ahead recognise it is better for these vehicles to have a good home, rather than left languishing at the back of the yard as usage falls, and the work be left to the dedicated specialists who can put all the attention needed into it rather than

What is the connection between EYMS fleet changes and a person being taken ill on a EYMS bus. Only another story in the newpaper on what was obviously a "slow news day". Moral:-never read newspapers.(Rant over)

To me, the new livery is very similar to that of Brighton & Hove. It’s okay, but I wish they had reverted to the traditional colours of blue & primrose; that says EYMS.

What you say are their "traditional" colours don't mean anything to a lot of people! I've lived here for over 20 years, and as far as I'm concerned, rhubarb-and-custard are the EYMS colours, that's all it's been in more than two decades!

EYMS Eclipse Urban’s 338, 340 and 341 have now joined Go-Ahead London’s commercial fleet and are to be used primarily on rail replacement jobs. Was surprised to see them parked at Metrobus’s Croydon Garage earlier today flic.kr/p/2i2ZmyHflic.kr/p/2i2W6pG
