A couple of ex-EYMS MPD's (W477 UAG and Y487 VRH) now running round Huddersfield in an all white livery except for the Maroon signs above the doors. For Streamline, they've been in use for about 3 months now

Noted this afternoon on the 109 Scarborough Seafrobt are Presidents 882 & 885 (both back on their original plates) and a B9 - 781.
885 was still running as 165DKH last year.
Both have now been fitted with LED blinds - 882 with a Mobitec & 885 with Hanovers.
Assume all the Open Tops may gain LEDs, and possibly their orignal plates.

Now that route 121 has been split at Bridlington, I wonder whether any EvoSetis still run up to Scarborough?

Is to operate as a stand alone company within Go North East

Sad news indeed. Expect severe cuts as East Yorkshire had a very low profit margin - no shareholders to satisfy.

Not necessarily. Their profit margin requirements may be totally different. They have stepped in where others have "thrown in the towel". First around Clacton is one area for example.
And can we now expect to find London "caste offs" heading along the M62 for fleet replacement.

I expected it would be sold eventually when Peter Shipp retired.
I expect there is lots of operational efficiencies that Go Ahead could make, EYMS always gave me the impression of a very old school operation without optimisation.
Strange it is kind of going to be part of Go North East rather than its own unit within Go Ahead though.

I think it could all be "regional" based. Sometime ago each of the companies was separate, then the two London companies and the London based operations of Metrobus were all taken under one O licence. Metrobus country operations became part of Brighton Hove and District. Everything in Dorset, Bournemouth, Isle of Wight and Oxford became one unit. Hull is "close" enough to be part of Go Ahead NE. And I can't remember who controls the operations in Essex and Suffolk. It all saves on time and money to have one head office running each regional unit rather than a head office running each company.

Yes would imagine apart from Ops staff, the back office functions so merge into the GNE shared services thus bringing some economies of scale. Having had some experience of EYMS it was entrenched in the past in terms of its structure and approach. To be fair whilst trying to keep up with fleet investment was admirable, the operation as a whole I found to be traditional and a fair bit out of touch with modern day bus operational practices. Sure the new owners will make some savage changes, probably taking advantage of the propoery portfolio, but also focus on some growth areas.

EYMS has in common with London and Go South Coast that it has EvoSetis. Not that I'm suggesting this is why GA agreed to buy EYMS!
It should be cleared quickly by the CMA as there are no overlaps in terms of bus operations. Conversely, EYMS did meet Arriva in Scarborough & York, First in York, Stagecoach in Hull (and Scunthorpe) and Transdev in York, Bridlington & Scarborough.

The only one of those where CMA would have had the slightest interest would have been Stagecoach in Hull. The other tangential overlaps are all right at the periphery of one network or the other and where it would make no appreciable difference to the monopoly situation.

There is a posting on a Facebook site of a picture showing a decker fresh out of Go Ahead North East's shop in what is alleged to be a new livery for EYMS. Appears to be far more yellow with just the rear third of the vehicle in the dark red livery. Any one with confirmation etc.

That's the one. Possibly for EYMS but who knows with the Go Ahead Group.

This is the base for new identity had this sent by a colleague showing new layout not a great shot but I’m sure there’ll be a proper relaunch suppose it was only a matter of time before things started to change, not that that is always bad Attachments:
