Unfortunately where I live there is no competition from the train or another company, so Arriva have a monopoly and seem to do what they want, no matter how it inconveniences people. The public, in public service does not register at Arriva HQ. Bad company, providing a bad service. Do not fear, the Lances are now to be shortlived at Heckmondwike. They are due to be replaced by new Scania saloons bodied by Wrights. Something of which I do find odd about operators. They hire all these Demonstrators and then end up buying buses which they didn't try! I am pointing this out as Arriva loaned the Tempo and Omnilink and then go Wrights instead!

Another question on the 443/444 leeds23. You say that from Rothwell the 443/444 will only run every 30 minutes towards Hall Green etc during weekdays. If that is the case, then the Saturday service will be more frequent in the Stanley area than compared to the Weekday? It appears the new service pattern also applies to Saturday operation. Therefore Rothwell loses 2 buses an hour to Leeds weekdays, but does gain one bus per hour on a Saturday.

Another question I have thought of regarding the 443/444. Will the weekday 443 extension to Barnsley continue or is that facing the infamous Arriva axe!

I suppose that remains the same. I have found out where Metro post the service changes! They used to stick it Bus Travel but now in Travel News.

Halifax Joint Committee are also to withdraw the shortlived X36 between Halifax and Huddersfield. I suspect that it's more a case of replacing the X36 journeys with 'stopping' journeys on the 536 (which has 'additional peak time journeys')...

I have found out where Metro post the service changes! They used to stick it Bus Travel but now in Travel News. I THINK they actually disappeared completely for a while. I'll do a round-up later this week from info I've got so far.

Can I just point out that with frequency changes on the 135, 136, 156, 159 and 410 are only on Saturdays afternoons ONLY. Except the Ferry Frystons will get the reduced frequencies all days Saturdays.
Thanks.

Hmmm pondering on that thought, they haven't specified when the reduced frequency commences on the Saturday afternoons. After 3pm I think bus routes tend to get lightly loaded in the Five Towns hence why M Travel finish at 3.30pm (ish). So I suppose Arriva maybe just catering for what the demand is and the changes are reasonable after all.

Is the 536 a 'public' service as i've never seen any timetable issued for this service.

At last! Routes 443 and 444 may start to run on time now that the frequency has been revised. Hopefully more layover time will be built into the timetable in case of late running. Ever since they started this 10 min frequency reliability went out the window, more especally after 4pm! It's bad enough that this service, along with others, gets hampered by thick taxi drivers parking in the middle of Boar Lane and along the entrance to New Station Street.

The 28 as of 18th May is now back in the bus station. Why all that fuss to put it back in the bus station. One would presume that Stand 20(Which the 781/731 uses) will be the stand in question or they will use stand 1 because of the use of dual doors i don't know?

I did state in my original post that the Arriva cuts were to Saturday afternoon frequencies, I used that wording as, to press, there is no indication of between what times this actually relates to.

Would it be justifiable to withdraw the 73 and in it’s place the 85/87 extend to Pudsey.
The 73/85/87 interwork at the bus station so could this be justified? And if they were running from Pudsey to Middleton would there have to be a revised route and timetable. What about the route in town would it have to cut out the bus station or go the long way round IE. JOURNEYS HEADING TO PUDSEY- St.Peters Way, Bus Station, Eastagte, Vicar Lane, N.Market Street, Duncan Street, New Station Street, Wellington Street then to Pudsey and JOURNEYS HEADING TO MIDDLETON/EAST ARDSLEY/MORLEY- A58(M), Westgate, Headrow, Eastgate, Bus Station then to Morley/Middleton.
Service Numbers could be the 73/73A or the 85 and 87 stay as the service number!

With regards to the frequency reductions Arriva are making on Saturday afternoons on the Five Towns network. The frequency drops after 3pm. The 184/185/189 will run every 30 minutes from this time however the ten minute frequency will remain between Wakefield and Castleford.
