Probably because there is no significant Boxing Day shopping in Bradford (or any other day for that matter!)
And that Metro have a limited budget so they can only offer what they already do, plus a tiny little bit extra. We are lucky to still get what we have, with all the budget cuts really.

Question is, With the Increased Frequency on the 72, will it still interwork with the X63 on Boxing Day?

That's great news for Keighley and hopefully the services will be well used enough for them to be retained. However, a lack of 662 is a little surprising as is the lack of buses in the Bradford area in general 662 passes Valley Parade and is used by Bradford City fans in the Keighley,Bingley area to get to home games and there always a fair low of fans waiting for Keighley/Bingley bound services after most home games. This Boxing Day Bradford City are due to play at home(weather permiting) and no buses, most fans will probably plan ahead and find other of getting to and from the game, but surely maybe a limited service between Bradford and Keighley between 13.00 and 18.00 would be useful for people wanting to go to this match

Wouldn't be surprised to see the 72 run every 15 minutes with buses continuing every half-hour as a X63 to/from Huddersfield. In terms of operations, the journeys could be split between Bramley and Huddersfield depots or perhaps Bramley running all journeys.

One of the problems last boxing day on 72 was Huddersfield's allocation of B7RLE's intermingled with only a few Geminis. Early/mid afternoon departures from Leeds with a B7RLE saw some journeys with passengers rammed like sardines and also some unable to board. Hope common sense prevails this year and it's 100% 'decker, although I suppose if the service is being increased then at least passengers won't have to wait half an hour for the next one if unable to board a single decker as was the case last year.

Keighley and District's web site confirms these services are running on Boxing Day: keighleybus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=227Routes 66A, 703, 717, 719 & 760 Presumably the 66A is to the hospital and back like the Christmas Day 17.

Looking at the timetable for boxing day the 72 will be running a 20 min frequency but the 363 will be a 30 minute frequency, so will that mean that these routes will not interwork at Bradford like they have in previous years?

I heard earlier in the year that the 72 is running as normal out of Bramley this year using the Hyperlinks

Think the Metro booklet answers the 72/363 queries as it states that passengers will have to change between buses at Hall Ings. Only remaining question is whether they'll use the Streetcars seeing as that means paying two people to operate each journey.

I doubt they will use Hyperlink buses. When the 4 was ftr they'd use double decks on Boxing Day

I've compared with last year's timetables and there are various changes in Leeds
2 - Reduced from every 30 mins to hourly, journeys are split at Leeds and don't run through 3/3A - No longer runs to Cottingley, the White Rose to Leeds bit is increased from every 30 mins to every 20 mins 12 - Reduced from every 30 mins to hourly 13/13A - New times. PVR is reduced by 1 bus on this group
4 - Longer journey time, now interworks with 16 at Seacroft 16 - No longer runs Seacroft to Whinmoor, now interworks with 4 at Seacroft, no change to overall PVR
5/7 - New times 19 - New times, Garforth to Ireland Wood now runs through rather than being split in Leeds, all these services used to interwork together, thought to also interwork with 40 this year 40 - New times, interworks at Leeds probably with 7s, No longer interworks at Seacroft with 50s 50 - New longer journey times, no longer interworks with 40
42 - Reduced from every 20 mins to every 30 mins
49 - New longer journey times, no longer has strange 29 min layover at Monkswood Gate
56 - Extended journey times, PVR increased by 1 bus
72 - Increased from every 30 mins to every 20 mins, now run by Bramley rather than Huddersfield
And also changes in Huddersfield...
314 reduced to hourly with other journey now running as 310 to Hepworth No other changes but Huddersfield no longer doing 72 means PVR reduced by 3 buses
And one change to Arriva's services, the 136 is withdrawn meaning the 166 now interworks at Castleford with the new 189 to Wakefield. PVR is increased by 1 bus.

Hi, im not feeling well today so I wont be going out so I would appreciate if you let me know some of the bus allocations for today in Leeds if anyone is out thanks[/quote The usual mix of Bramley's allocation, predominantly the 324xx/376xx/377xx but also some ALX's with 30928 on 42 & 30924 on 3A/13A. The 7 & 40 were interworking at City Sq and latest repaint 32431 was one of the buses on those boards.

Hi, im not feeling well today so I wont be going out so I would appreciate if you let me know some of the bus allocations for today in Leeds if anyone is out thanks 37680 was on the 72 and there was a Bramley based ALX400 on the 1. Looked like Arriva only had Belle Isle open as all their services were either Gemini II, Spectra or Pulsar operated from what I saw. Transdev Keighley had all Presidents on the 760, but the first journey from Keighley (1055) was horrendously overcrowded with plenty standing and around 20-30 people unable to board from Greengates onwards. Hopefully this means the full 760 route will be retained for next year, with earlier journeys in line with Arriva and First

The following is a log of all Boxing Day buses observed from the windows of various Leeds City Centre public houses whilst enjoying a few Christmas beers :-)

2/3/3A/12/13/13A : 30924,32462,32463,32464,37689,37707,37715,37716,37720,37726,37753,37754.
4/16 (Interwok at Seacrfoft) : 32437,32445,32449,32468,32471,37652,37656,37710,37724,37728.
5 : 69338,69342.
7/40 (Interwork at City Sq) : 32431,32433,37651,37653,37654,37655,37657,37662.
19 : 32451,37649.
33/33A : 37717,37727,37730,37756.
42 : 30928,37064,37711,37713.
49 : 30930,30932,32443,37659.
50/50A : 32434,32444,32461,32472,37719.
51/52 : 32470,37687,37688,37709,37725,37752.
56: 37646,37660,37663,37666.
72 : 32442,37645,37647,37648,37650,37680,37755.

508 : 32510,32511,66768,69419.
760 : 2712,2714,2715.
Some services were particularly busy from early afternoon and even though the 72 was every 20 minutes they were seen to be leaving The Headrow (Horse & Trumpet) stop with full standing loads!
For the record, pints were consumed in Hedley Verity(Woodhouse Lane), Templar (Vicar Lane), Horse & Trumpet (Headrow), Reliance Bar (North Street), Yates (Boar Lane). :-)

As has been noted, First Leeds was entirely double deck except for two singles on the 5.
The 19 was also interworking with the 7 & 40 at City Square on a 10 hour cycle that no vehicle would actually complete.
Unlike previously Arriva were all double deck Spectra on the 166, it was a mix last year, and they had some Spectra mixed in with Pulsars on the 229/254 which in previous years were all single deck.

Ha, I missed that bit about the 19 completely! I did wonder though were buses were apparently vanishing to, for example a 40 arriving at City Sq didn't come back along Boar Lane as a 7 as I had expected. Should have realised really, I'll blame the beer!

Yes it took me a while to work out but it was basically (using made up times)
00:40 7 to Primley Park & back, returning at 01:49 01:58 40 to Seacroft & back, returning at 03:28 03:33 19 to Ireland Wood, then to Garforth, then to Ireland Wood again & back to Park Row arriving at 07:02 07:10 7 to Primley Park & back, returning at 08:19 08:28 40 to Seacroft & back, returning at 09:58 then to the Bus Station to layover until the cycle starts again at 10:40

2704 was another one on the 760
If the first journeys were busy they might want to introduce a few more journeys next year, even if they didn't open the depot until 10:30, they could still run a few more journeys in the morning with the same number of vehicles and drivers. The timetable looks like the 4th bus on the 760 didn't start until 13:55
The two Centrebus buses on the 757 were 769 & 782

If they are going on the 301/302 Golcar circulars, they should have ordered the Max version instead.

As a result of this unfortunate accident, OFL will operate short of guided vehicles. They may have to borrow a guided vehicle from Bramley or Bradford for several weeks or months depending on the future of the Guided Gemini involved in the collision. I hope that the driver makes a full recovery.

Since they received those few B7RLEs from Leeds, Huddersfield have got ample guided buses. There are about 10 or 11 for a PVR of 6
