I agree, keep the newer buses on the X84, 33, 97 routes because the buses would be internally vandalised on the inner city routes 2,3,12,13, 6, 1 and 28. Should have ordered normal seated B9TL's instead for the latter routes.

I think leather seats are standard spec for all new buses now with First.

i noticed they dont have rear upper deck tail/turn lights Me too. Bit pointless though. How many people looked at them? I thought it was a European directive to have these lights fitted and working. Not seen one yet, but am told they can accept more push chairs than previous batches. This must mean a reduction in seating though. Anyone got the seating capacity?

Also, are there enough buses to cover those routes since the transfers to Sheffield/Rotherham.

Other than the odd bit of window etching, Leeds buses don`t suffer the dreadful vandalism of some major cities.

Unfortunately, Its a sad fact of life, that public transport is a magnet for vandals. Brand new shiny and clean buses and trains are seen as "Blank canvasses" for these people and they seem to see it as a badge of honour being the first to "Tag" a new vehicle. Unfortunately, this is a problem not just confined to the inner-cities, As rural fleets are afflicted by this problem too.

Our Solo's & Tempos don't get any grafitti, if they do it's school kids with markers on back of seats that gets removed that night.

When I lived in West Yorkshire I used to take note of which districts within WYPTE/Yorkshire Rider fleet were the best and worst for this particular problem. As said, Leeds buses seemed in very good conition considering the size of their fleet. Halifax vehicles were quite bad but Huddersfield vehicles seemed to be quite clean. By far, Bradford buses were the worst. I remember two Bradford vehicles having experimental anti-vandal seats. 5077/5137 had seats that were trimmed with LT style cloth but no padding on the upper deck. They were instantly recognisable as they were like individual bucket type seats.

In my opinion First Bradford are good now. There was a big change about 5 years ago, before then I would let them pass and wait for a K & D. If they did not have discarded Metros on board they would be just about as good as K & D now.

I had to smile at the above comment on rural buses getting vandalised, I used to think the old merc's on the Hebden Bridge network were vandalised whilst on routes within Halifax, however the bored little gits of Hebden Bridge and surrounding villages who should be doing extra homework if their bored turned out to be equally just as bad. When Metro spent a fortune on solo's for the Hebden and Todmorden network, I took bus E about 6 months after these bused were in service. The back 2 rows off seats on both buses to and from Colden were vandalised, happened to notice the bus stop at those council houses up by Colden was etched badly, a stop at Slack was etched a bit and so too surprisingly was the stop at Blackshaw Head, and these areas you'd think had families that gave a toss about what their kids got up to!

Bolton is the official allocation, but both are currently at Oldham for fuel consumption trials against the Enviro's, so should be usually seen on 58/59 & 180/184 duties. Think one board may do an early 83 trip though.

So is Leeds the new London? Inroads of new buses with older ones cascaded to the plebs elsewhere? Perhaps First could investigate reinstating "utility" bodies for the likes of us hoiks in Bradford and Halifax. The new 98 Geminis ought to have been shared out more fairly. Why didn't the Olympic Geminis go straight to Sheffield and stop the shenanigans?

Yeah I also saw that whilst I passing by sat on a service 16 at about 12:40. I to also hope both the driver and cyclist are ok What made it more problematic was the fact 36264 was stuck in the middle lane. After we pulled out of the Train Station onto City Square our driver had to go into the left hand lane, which is the exit for Whitehall road. Once getting past the incident we then had make a swift right turn to get onto Wellington Street.
