If they are going on the 301/302 Golcar circulars, they should have ordered the Max version instead.

It's a shame Huddersfield and Halifax because after all it has been 7 years since new buses were delivered to these depots respectively.

Thanks for the information on the Leeds Geminis, A1YBG - this is indeed a large batch of buses which should certainly modernise the fleet. Any info on the destination of the new Enviro 400s?

Most of the buses on the 180/184 are now Enviros and they're starting to appear on the 36/37 routes in Manchester too. They've also appeared on some 83s from time to time.

My observation at the Corn Exchange last night`s evening peak were that all the red/blue line branding had gone from the native B9`s and Olympic Gemini`s were much in evidence, especially on route 51, 2, 3, 13. It appears that they are being rushed into service still sporting "First in London" posters but with Leeds branding applied! There were several more lined up at Hunslet Park, also the first Leeds scania in the new livery. See "Leeds Buses old and new" on flickr.

Dont what to put a downer on the new geminis as I very much like them, but 36182 had a malfunctioning rear display. Just a small LED dot in the top left hand corner. It was working on Saturday however.

I noticed yesterday when boarding 36224 that the driver anti assault screen has no gap at the bottom to hand the driver cash, you have rather to awkwardly hand your money over the top of the ticket machine. This will be to do with cashless boarding in London I presume. I was impressed with the total lack of rattles and squeaks, good buses. Passenger reaction was good.

I fear the high back leather seats are going to get wrecked with them being used on some of Hunslet Park's services which operate to some of Leeds's toughest areas.
Surely they would have been better allocated to more long distance services (33 & X84 are ok, Headingley services also ok, but how about the X6, 508 etc)
I'm not even sure about them all being allocated to West Yorkshire, they should have been allocated to high profile interurban services across the country.

The X6 is Bradford operated and the 508 is Halifax operated. Therefore the new Gemini's wouldn't operate these route's anyway.,being HP based, You're right though, it would be a shame if the interiors did get trashed.
