First Greater Manchester to become part of First Midlands not sure when Would have made sense to join First West Yorkshire and York as some bus routes are linked however First Manchester does not run in to Sheffield.

Any actual benefit of merging all these areas?

I said First Manchester would be better off being merged with First West Yorkshire I never said FWY should be merged with First South Yorkshire.

Any actual benefit of merging all these areas? I think it's something money related.

Any actual benefit of merging all these areas? Less higher management to pay for. This will come down to cost cutting one way or another.

I don't think your comment makes any sense either, your'e the one who mentioned Sheffield. Why?. As for FGM being merged with FWY what sense is there in that?. FGM run at a considerable loss which is why their remaining depot at Oldham, whilst not actively "on the market", would be sold in a heartbeat if another operator put in a bid that's agreeable to First. Let the Midlands shoulder FGM's losses and leave FWY to be a profitable opco i say.

No, I understood that, as Sheffield is part of First Midlands in the current structure. He was saying that it would have made more sense to link Manchester and West Yorkshire where there are routes joining the two, rather than Manchester and Midlands where there are no connecting routes across the Pennines from Manchester into Midlands territory at Sheffield/Rotherham/Doncaster. I'm not sure I agree, but I understood the point.

If that's the case, why didn't he just say that in the first place instead of creating confusion. i didn't understand his point, clearly you did. so thanks for explaining.

Theres a "14" plate E400 in the new livery too. Passed it today, but strangely no fleet no's on rear or RHS of vehicle. It was on 350 around lunchtime.

FGM currently seems to be testing a Sigma 10 EV. Number plate being MX22 LFZ.
