Monarch Airlines has announced it is creating 200 new jobs at Leeds Bradford Airport. The company said it would be operating an additional 12 routes from its new base at the airport from March. John Parkin, the airport's chief executive, said the airline's announcement was "tremendous news" for the region. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-18765701

WOW, lbia is going to be very busy from next summer with jet2 increases, british airways four times a day, thomson holidays, thomas cook, PIA, ryanair and maybe easyjet will expand next...........will need more apron space soon!!!!!!!!

Thomas cook look to be heading for the door. Easy are quite happy with current operations and it will be MAN>LBA for the next 5 years. Jet2's increases are using a fourth 757 thus freeing up 737 to operate different routes increase offerings on others. Jet2s expansion is not very much, more just securing up the market share up at lbia.

- to be used over at man for now. With G-LSAM, G-LSAI roatated around as the standby 757 for the day.
