I've noticed now that Stagecoach has aquired the last few 444 journeys on a Sunday from Arriva. Does anyone know why this is or does Stagecoach want to get into Leeds??

They've gained some tenders from the Wakefield Area, maybe in order to compete with rivals tates travel.

Picked up a tender. Easy money. That is all. Indeed, but of course round here people always want everything to lead to some massive theory!

Stagecoach Yorkshire have recently introduced some Scania-E300 single-deckers into service at Barnsley. I have seen examples on Flickr working route X28 to Pontefract, extended to Castleford on Saturdays. Feel free to report examples here, especially if you see them on other routes. I understand route X19 (confimed to South Yorkshire) is a regular haunt. www.flickr.com/photos/davidbalme/8300607589/

As I have located this Stagecoach Yorkshire thread, I shall revive it rather than create a new one.
Anyway, I promised to share which SY bus I rode today. It was Scania-E300 28672! I rode it on route X19 from Barnsley as far as Doncaster. It looked odd having two smaller nearside windows in the middle of that side of the bus. It reminded me a bit of a botched single-dooe conversion. It was comfortable enough for me though to have a bit of a snooze in it!
I saw at least 2 ex-Yorkshire Traction OmniDekkas on route 87 in Sheffield. So they have left Barnsley now, although this may have happened some time back, as it was my first visit to the area for a while.

It now seems a pity that Stagecoach divested Huddersfield. They could have kept it sought to acquire K-Line and also independents M Travel and Ross Travel, serving Pontefract like other Stagecoach routes. Then West Yorkshire could have had its own Souter Tiger!

The first driver brings the bus up then subsequent drivers travel to and from Castleford by train to Barnsley then obviously the last driver brings the bus back

Monday to Friday will start off on a 154 then onto 153. Change drivers at 10:15 and 13:15 departed at Castleford. Did a run with a driver I know.

Surely they hav a company car,van that they cud use instead of a driver having to use a train? If he used the company car/van that would count towards his/her driving hours. Using the train, means, the driver won't be using any driving hours, and Stagecoach may buy the South Pennies Ranger ticket at £22.70, which may work out cheaper than buying each changeover driver a return ticket.

And I suppose it would be quite easy for a driver in Barnsley bus station to then get the train direct to Castleford as opposed to having to either park a car in Barnsley or return to the depot to get one.

They have a Northern Pass for travel on the train between the stations.

According to Buses mag Stagecoach are to refurbish Scania-E300s 28675-78 for route X6 (Sheffield - Doncaster Sheffield Airport) starting today.
Has anyone seen any such refurbished buses here yet?

Hi I know I'm picking up an old thread but does anybody know why most 59s are now leaving Wakefield Bus Station onto Marsh Way and then coming down Northgate?
