A new poster has appeared on First's Leeds buses behind the driver advertising "tickets available from your driver". Among the usual suspects it lists the Metro DayRover - is this really now available direct from drivers or is it just an error?

A new poster has appeared on First's Leeds buses behind the driver advertising "tickets available from your driver". Among the usual suspects it lists the Metro DayRover - is this really now available direct from drivers or is it just an error? It would be good if that happens, it already happens in Manchester. I, for one, wouldn't be bothered going to a Bus or rail station to get a day rover. (Rather I start a new thread, i'll put it in here) What do you all think about ticket's issued in the Manchester area? Should Operators in West Yorkshire switch over like them? Their tickets- their paper is crap but the Ink printed on the ticket is Good. For us, the paper used on our ticket's is good but the ink sometimes times rubbish, especially when you can hardly read anything on the ticket!

The Metro Dayrover is available from drivers. Its £4.50 and can be used on any operator regardless of which operator you buy it from.

AFAIK no-one yet has actually sold or seen one though!!! Probably because no-one has a clue that you can buy them on bus! Metro normally make a deal of new initiatives like this, but it seems not this time. I checked on Metro's website before posting my question, which still says that they are bought at bus/train stations and post offices etc only. So I take it only the £4.50 bus only ticket is available to buy on bus and not the other tickets in the DayRover range?

Maybe they are waiting for all operators to be set up before launching it. If they are available 'on bus' they would need to be available on the likes of First Manchester's 184, Transdev Burnley & Pendle's 25 etc

(Metro tied it into something else which forced all operators to sell/accept them or they would lose all subsidies!)

Bus side advertising has now appeared for this initiative, so at least some passengers might actually have a clue that they can buy it at the point of travel. Handy especially when you consider that peak time operator only day tickets aren't much less money (if the passenger intends on making a connection with a different operator).
