Could never see the appeal aesthetically of the original Tempo, But this one does look a little better . Still way behind the Eclipse/Solar/Meridian single decker product range from Wrightbus though. And it probably wont sell in the numbers the aforementioned have, plus add ALDs E300 as a competitor and unless its marketed as a bargain basement alternative, It will be doomed like the Esteem.

They were meant to be naming it 'Olympian' too

Don't think that was ever officially announced, was it?
There were rumours that the link up with Ashok would lead to a Leyland model name being used, but i wasn't aware it had actually been named yet.

The first production example isn't due off the production line until some point next year.

Looks ok. I prefer it to the original design.
Like most designs it will probably look good in some liveries and not so good in others. Looks good in the mock up Centrebus livery.

Optare would be better concentrating on ONE single deck model either the Tempo or the Versa and concentrating on that.
The Versa is the more successful of the two and frankly the Tempo should be dropped along with any notions of double deck construction.
Optare has only just been rescued from extinction and needs to walk before it can run.
Ashok Leyland should go for 100% ownership and quit the AIM as the shares are almost worthless.

I think both the tempo and the versa are excellent buses and IMO it's a shame there aren't more of them.

The Versa is a midi whilst the Tempo is a full sized single decker.

But dont let that get in the way of your crusade.h
