Following a campaign started by a student who used the service to get more journeys on the X59 service between Skipton and Harrogate, North Yorkshire County Council have announced that there are no plans to increase the frequency of the service or restore the service to its former level. Local councillors have complained, saying that people who used the service from Skipton can only spend two and a half hours in Harrogate, compared to seven and a half hours in the past, which would have an effect on people wishing to travel to Harrogate for leisure, work or education. www.cravenherald.co.uk/news/9062316.No_plans_to_restore_X59_bus_service/
