You must mean 37059 YJ06XML..
Well this bus has now been off the road for about 1 year and 2 months I think, mainly due to legal reasons. However, I do know this bus was in some disrepair and last I knew it was a job going to cost us around the £110,000 to be repaired.
I think management are still trying to decide on its fate. But with it being off the road for so long everyone seems to have stopped talking about it.

If they will spend that much repairing it...they might as well save up bit more and get another B9 and use what ever they can of this damaged B7 for spares...
But With 40 B9s due, and adding in the 19 B7 Geminis, I think Bradford should be able to manage without it..

How would it be cheaper? We have already established that the repair bill would be about £110k, expensive I know but still nowhere near the cost of another new bus.

@£110k for a repair bill, I'd scrap it and replace it with a new one for approx £150k for a B9/Gemini!

it would be better than repairing it and they dont seem to be missing it anyway as its been off the road for more than a year.

I think there needs to be a big crack down on all the X6 drivers. Some go very slow whilst others think are on some kind race track. I get off at Fartown Bar in the Huddersfield bound direction (just little bit on from the X6 37059 Crash site) and I must admit, that in 2/3 of my Trips, the bus is usually coming down at 60-70>mph and drivers will often make a sharp break.
I know speed becomes part of the 'Express', but what comes First is Safety. I'd be very much prepared to stay on the bus 5 more minutes, knowing that I will reach my destination 'Safely'.

There are speed cameras on this route protecting a 40mph limit so I doubt they are going 70 You often seem to be going faster on buses than you actually are I feel, because normally you are trundling along at 25-30, when he actually gets up to 40, it feels faster

You have to also acknowlegde that it is tricky driving at suitable speeds for the road (not too fast, but not too slowly to hold up traffic driving at 40mph for example) while also making frequent stops along the way. Buses can't dawdle at 10mph between stops on busy roads so sometimes a bit of fast braking is necessary.

It could be due the road being down hill, but as a daily traveller on the route, I can tell what speed the the X6 bus is usually going at, most notably above 40mph. The cameras- I don't think are doing much on the A641 in Huddersfield, thought some driver do slow down over the catchment area at times...

I live in Bradford, but drive out of Kirkstall depot & have followed many of these buses on the X6 service and trust me, you are very lucky to get 50 out of them!! The one's we have at Kirkstall will not do 50 and most of them struggle to get over 40. Jason JML8371

You might not think it's going that fast but I am writing since i've seen the speed meter itself, with the pointer above 70mph whilst the vehicle is in motion. Either the speedos don't work properly, or the speed is in km/h - which makes 70-ish about 50 mph. Still, that's quite fast for a double-decker, and drivers need to be able to stop in time; whatever happened to 'defensive driving'?

Still not enough speed for some routes though & especially not for a national speed limit road! I took one of the B7/Gemini's to Skipton (X84) just after we got them, had a fairly clear run both ways but lost nearly 30 minutes due to the bus bus being way too slow.

Would these Geminis not have a speed limiter fitted? My brother works for Stagecoach North West, working out of their Preston depot, and alot of the buses he drives are limited to around 50mph.
Would this not be the same for the Geminis?

these buses do go fast they dont do 40mph coming down stanningley by-pass do they, dont talk rubbish, some drivers drive them to fast as with what happened with this bus(37059) and now the driver is facing his actions in court.
