TRANSDEV Blazefield has ordered 18 Wrightbus-bodied Volvos for delivery in the early part of 2008. Ten B9TL 70-seat double-deckers will join the Yorkshire Coastliner fleet, which links Leeds and York with towns on the coast. They will allow the conversion of all Coastliner services to double-deck operation, providing increased capacity.
The group is also taking eight 44-seat B7RLE single-deckers which will join the Keighley & District fleet.
Most of Transdev Blazefield’s fleet of 420 vehicles are now Volvos. Managing director Dave Alexander explains: “Our full size bus purchases are predominantly Volvo as we remain satisfied with both the product and the support we receive. Volvo continues to work closely with us in meeting our requirements and developing solutions.”
However the group is also buying from Optare, and is due to take delivery of 19 Versas for itsBurnley & Pendle fleet.

The 10 Geminis for Coastliner is old news really! But nice to see some more new buses for Keighley. Wonder which service they will be on.

Surely double deckers are more suited for the 760. I'm not sure what is currently allocated though as it always seems to be a mixture of single and double deckers.

You sometimes get Northern Counties deckers on as well quite frequently.

I can remember about over a year ago. In Buses fleetnews, they mentioned Geminis were on order for the 760!

It was only a few years ago when they rebranded the 760 as Airedale Link complete with route branding. Also had buses allocated to the route. The Royales and The Alexander Olypians. Whatever happened to them??
I also heard Geminis were coming too. Was relaunching the 760 with easy access!

The Alexander RHs went to Road Car now Stagecoach Lincolnshire. I think the Royales are with First Somerset and Avon. The K-YCL Olympians are now at Stagecoach.

66!! wow wasnt expecting it be for that service 760 would have made more sense in my opinion because sending out h-reg buses sends a bad impression to the quality of the service thanks jack anyways!!

It seems a bit funny that Coastliner are selling the six single ones when they could use one later on in the year for the 842 Malton Bus Station - Castle Howard.
Wonder whether Gelards or Stagecoach will be buying the singles or are Keighley having them & getting 2 new ones?

Wonder whether Gelards or Stagecoach will be buying the singles or are Keighley having them & getting 2 new ones? Can I ask where you have sourced this information please. Last of all I would doubt Geldards would buy them because for the time been, they don't require low floor single deckers. I can't see Stagecoach buying them either as Volvo is not their main chassis provider anymore. If they are to leave Blazefield or Transdev, I am sure First would find a home for them! However, it will be most likely them been transferred elsewhere within Blazefield to let say Keighley which could upgrade the 717 service or go to Harrogate for the main Harrogate-Knaresbrough services.

No modern vehicles will be leaving the Transdev fleets any time soon while they still have to turn around Blackburn Transport and Northern Blue
Why would Stagecoach buy them? Remember the previous sales were to Yorkshire Traction pre-takeover

What fleet number is FJ08BYV? I photographed it yesterday in Leeds but it didn't have a fleet number on it.

I saw a Coastliner Wright double deck on the A62 in Birstall yesterday.... looked brand new, any reason why it would be in Birstall?
