Aren't the Chinese really good at producing copies which are better than the originals. However it doesn't have an open rear platform, not sure it could be single manned, those front doors are a long way from the driver.
Any truth in the roumor that HJC have already ordered half a dozen secondhand ones for 2025 especially if they can do 30mph in first gear.

KYV 643X could do 30 in 1st gear, it is true... Voith gearbox's for you. That fake Routemaster looks really nice, it looks a lot better than the Borismaster that is going to be made.

It was saying 30 & we seemed to be doing it too, it took it's time but it managed to get there eventually.

Wow, such high revs at 30mph, is the bus still running?

Wow, such high revs at 30mph, is the bus still running? If it would do 30 in first I wonder how many speeding tickets it collected once it reached 3rd/4th gear. The otherside of this alleged 30 in first is the loss of engine braking through the gearbox. I wouldn't want to try and stop it on a regular basis without a correctly working retarder especially on those hills in Halifax. No doubt we will hear shortly it also had exceptional brakes as well.

It is a 3 speed Voith so the rev's aren't high in 1st anyway, especially up a gradient, when the bus was going down a hill the rev's didn't get any higher than what they did going uphill & on the odd occation it would jump straight into 3rd from 1st because 2nd wasnt there, hence why it stayed in 1st all the time.

I suppose it would 95 mph in 3rd as well.
Given the Voith ratios I can find show 3.17 1.67 and 1.00 for a DV500. Using say 50/55 mph in 3rd that would drive 1st down to 16/18 mph.

Drivers have said if they weren't limited they could do 70 - 80 mph easily if they was on the flat or going down a gradient

Children, stop arguing! We are going well off topic and, tbh, i think we're all getting a little tired of these petty little squabbles.

I wonder why Yorkshire Traction, West Riding and Yorkshire Rider didn't buy them for the motorway services, the Olympians and Volvos used by Traction did about only did around 55. The low floor 52 plate Spectra's last used by Arriva with a 4 speed box had a top speed of only 52 mph.

Anyone got anything more to add about the Chinese RM lookalike then?! It would be nice if the plethora of opening windows were standard on UK double deckers! The blinds on upper windscreen surely wouldn't go a miss as well
