The main reason the organiser wants them there is for night trips, last year they all started to turn up at about 2:00 - 3:00 & it went up until 8:30ish when it was dark. I remember it, i went on a Bristol VR open top around in Halifax in the pouring down rain in the dark... Incase your wondering there was about 4-5 other poeple up there with me! lol

I went for a trip on it, it is a nice bus with a weird seating arrangement upstairs. You had a ride on it during the arriva Tour then. We like to say the upper deck seating is unique, all it means is that with a couple exceptions all the seating in interchangable, including between decks.

Just got back a good day nice to see the number of buses is increasing I counted 28 at 1415 hours and there were some out on the road , Pleased to see the service to sowerby bridge was good with supervision at both ends , however, perhaps the drivers need route cards as the one i went on missed turning and ended up miles away before he could turn round. Even with that problem a good day even though I had to leave at 1500 hours.

At least you got there we didnt the bus behind was just behind us when we arrived .
I almost forgot : the idiot who stood in front of a ambulance on blues and twos so he could get a photo.
The way I came back invovled a very steep climb to kings cross it was good.

I saw that pillock that stood in the road when the Ambulance was there, i was just arriving on a bus and saw it through the window, how someone can do something like that just to get a photo is beyond disbelief when someones life maybe at risk.
On a lighter note, I throughly enjoyed the day especially now that the Blackman's came & brought lots of good buses that rarely go out to enthusiast rallies. I also got a lift off Tony to Luddenden Foot depot at the end of the rally on the Devon General which is a beast with it's straight through exhaust.

There is always one, that climb up to king cross required 1st gear, so second time around I came back the reverse of the outward route that was much better all the way up Skirtcoat rd we were able to hold 2nd

I almost forgot : the idiot who stood in front of a ambulance on blues and twos so he could get a photo. Thankfully, it wasn't me. I thought it was a good turnout from what we've had over recent years. Some there I'd not seen before, which is always good. I liked the Devon General one and I was told that RT2591 has recently come Tony Blackman's way from the East Anglia museum. Also not seen before by me was T J Walsh's TJ37, the Plaxton Primo bodied bus. Shame we didn't have more stalls offering the usual ephemera. Didn't get on a one of the runs unfortunately.

I was pleased that the Royal British Region stall appeared to be doing very well

Except for a couple of Nationals, an Ex-West Riding Lynx and Volvo B6 the rest were probably either half cabs or early underfloor single decks, not rear engined decker in sight. That will take some beating, any offers
