It is more likely to be a Castleford based bus and in which case if it is burried at the back of that depot it will be difficult to see.
If it finds it way to Belle Isle it would be much more visable

there is a 184 from Pontefract leaving at 07:25 & the incident happened at 07:26 so it must of been on that route.

Found this photo of a burnt out ALX300 on Facebook, don't know what bus it is at all, maybe it's the one that caught fire in Ponte? It has an advert on the side from May.

OP's linked article was from 31 July 2010. Either Arriva are useless with the ads and failed to take off the ad for 2months or this isn't your bus.

Who's scrapyard is 489 photographed in, because I don't think Arriva is storing any Bl VR (parked in background) ? It also looks like SORN was declared 1/10/10 (source DVLA web-site)

It is just one of the Barnsley yards, don't know which one.

I dont think that this is one of Arriva yorks dafs, the alx 300s dont have the feul cap behind the driver and that black stip (the pilla behind the driver) is white on the ALX 300's, note the seating is all forward facing at the back, I would say that is a Volvo.

Ah yes well spotted, I had no idea what bus it was & had a feeling it could have been one of Yorkshire's DAF's as they are unreliable. I think it could be a North East W*** PPT batch of B10BLE's

Could it have been a Stagecoach Yorkshire vehcile involved ? Given the time 19:26 it would have been running late. Not confirmed but having recently elimimated 489 it is likely to be ex CATS Volvo Wright 102
