Well Reliance are only a small firm, surely a big company likes the look of them. A nice modern Volvo fleet. Would suite Transdev down to the ground.

...that have about half a dozen buses and operate on one route only? ... and have nothing Transdev would want, nothing to strip down and sell, no routes competing with theirs, no really important assets (such as Citysightseeing with Top Line), Transdev would be foolish to touch Reliance. All luck to John Duff and co at Reliance though, lovely to still see a small family operator doing so well, facing some tough competition from Stephensons at the moment however...

I agree with you there James Reliance is a nice tidy little operator, can i also add what this topic is for and is for posting Fleet movements rather than going on about non 'relevant' subjects. thanks in advance.

Im not sure if this is a bus which is Stephenson's or another operator but on one evening this week i saw a Plaxton Beaver 2 shoot past me and noticed it was in service maybe 30/31 im unsure but is fitted with a tail lift. Is this anything to do with Stephenson's ?

Is this anything to do with Stephenson's ? Stephensons beavers are all painted in their livery as far as I know. I don't know if Hodgsons (who run the evening 31X) have acquired any beavers.

I remember riding that (assuming they had one Duple) years ago, then riding a Smiths one and being surprised just how quiet it was! I don't know if it was an issue with the engine or insulation but it was pretty loud.

Stephenson's also had a few Duple 320 reboided Leopards until a few years back. Sure it wasn't one of them ?

That would make sense... but how could you tell them apart visually? I remember the gearstick looked strange, mounted on a cylinder raising to seat level as opposed to the more usual (at the time) lever. I assume there were extra mechanics or hydraulics underneath to get the required leverage.

Well the only thing is the DAF badge and the Leyland badge, apart from that they looked identical.

Yes sure is, not many were built. It's a swedish design i think from a body builder called Saffle.

From Wikipedia: B10L It was available in the United Kingdom and Ireland between 1994 and 1999, with a choice of two types of bodywork, the Alexander (Belfast) Ultra and the Wright Liberator. The Alexander Ultra body was based on the Swedish design produced by Säffle (a subsidiary of Volvo), who built the body on the first B10L imported to Britain. The Wright bodywork proved slightly more popular.

I took a picture of this a couple of weeks back and didn't realise it was a recent addition! It is F625 MSL and has been given fleetnumber 8700.
