Im sure i remember reading on this forum, that when Cas gets their allocation of new Tempos, some(if not most)of the remaining ALX400s were to be transferred to Arriva scotland west. I havent seen it reported yet, that this has happened. I have seen that most of the 04 reg commanders have gone to scotland, is this instead of the ALX400s?.

There was some initial speculation about the ALX400 prior to the arrival of the Tempos at Castleford.
Moving 13 of them to Scotland did get a mention on the Tempo thread but the only change implemented was to move 6 of them to Selby to provide additional capacity for some School services while the 6 Volvo Renowns moved the other way.

654 has been returned to Castleford from Selby in exchange for 109 which is to work the Selby Dales 870/874 duty from this Sunday as Darts are unreliable and too small to cope

It terms of overall capacity the Renown is lower at just 60 while a dart from the 170-199 batch can accommodate 61 on paper at least.

I think its because the B10BLE's are more suited and stronger for the Dales Bus service. Also 651 appears to have gone in its place.

I think you are right in what you saying relating to relaibility, but why have Castleford released 109 when all the others in that batch have been or are away for a re-furbished.

You'd have thought Arriva would have thought more carefully about using rubbish on hills darts on routes with massive and sometimes lengthy gradients. If I ended up stranded in the dales thanks to Arriva's dart breaking down because it simply couldn't cope then I would have to string the MD up by his b....

Arriva ALX400 651 seen here at Corn Exchange on service 163. Transferred from Selby to Castleford. Reported this the other day as 651 has gone in exchange for 109 which is covering for the ever failing Darts on the Dales Bus. Seen Unusual allocations thread.

Just 667 and 669 of the ALX400's remain in Sandstone Aquramarine, however those two plus 652, 653, 654, 657, 658, 664, 665 and 668 would benefit from a re-trim as well.
