Does anyone know if the Volvo Olympians are leaving Selby. If some or all of the Olympians don't leave then something else will be leaving. Since the arrival of the 8 Gemini's only 4 buses have departed. As predicted the last two remaining Renowns 108 & 109 have departed to Castleford, with 511 and 616 either failing or being sold on. Therefore at least another 4 should go to balance the numbers, however the requirements for the 415 was reduced by 2 buses with the introduction of a 20 minute frequency. That would make 6 still to go and guess what there are 6 Olympians left. Will these all be leaving Yorkshire, I would imagine 512-4 will leave since the rest of the batch have all been sold for further use. Don't know about 621-3 these could see short-term use elsewhere if there are any ongoing shortages, we might see them working out of either Castleford or Belle Isle.

All the step buses at Selby will be leaving during the new year, if all goes to plan. I've heard that 621 - 3 will be kept at wakefield as pool buses for any depot to use, 512 - 514 will probably be scrapped.

SYPTE didn't buy Olympians, are you talking about South Yorkshire Road Transport?

The transfer of 621,2,3 to Belle Isle will make Selby depot 100% low floor.
That's 3 of the 5 Arriva Yorkshires depots converted Castleford, Heckmondwike and now Selby

When or if 200 gets withdrawn it would make it the first Low Floor Bus to be scrapped/sold from the Operational fleet. Others have been withdrawn following Accident damage or transfered within the Arriva group but 200 could be the first true Arriva Yorkshire low floor/easy access operational withdrawal.

you'd think though they'd send it to dewsbury and get rid of an ikarus I agree, except I think Dewsbury would prefer one of the ALX200 Darts. I wonder if 200 is starting to become a bit unreliable. Unfortunately most one-off buses in any fleet tend to get withdrawn early unless they are exceptionally good/reliable or really well liked by the drivers

At least they'll be for sale and see further use somewhere unlike First who sells theirs to PVS.
