Good news for Pudsey as work will commence on Sunday to build a new bus station in the town. Work should finish in September 2010 and will include an enclosed waiting area and real-time information (looks like a smaller version of Brighouse Bus Station). The development of the new station will be in three stages. *Stage 1 (October 2009-January 2010): Buses continue to serve existing stops with nearby carpark closed. *Stage2 (from January 2010): bus station will close and buses will use temporary stops on Market Place (T1 and T2 around the outside of the new station) and Church Lane (T3 outside Post Office plus existing stops P4 and P5). *Stage 3 (summer 2010): work carried out on surrounding highway and foothpaths in Market Place and Church Lane. www.wymetro.com/news/releases/091020Pudsey.htmwww.wymetro.com/NR/rdonlyres/8B8BC03F-0124-4E7C-A037-D4E7F4EE2229/0/PudseyBusStation_infoleaflet.pdf

Stage 2 seems to be a little bit behind, as it will start next Sunday (14th Feb). Buses using stands P1, P2 and P3 from this date will use new temporary stands T1, T2 and T3. Also, an image of what the bus station will look like. Does look like a cross between Brighouse bus station and some of the newer bus stations in Greater Manchester, such as Eccles, Hyde and Oldham. www.wymetro.com/news/releases/100205Pudsey
