The Longstaff Volvos have a sign in the Nearside Screen advising that certain fares have REDUCED!
Anyone know anymore details?

I noticed the sign on Saturday. Propbably to try to get a few more passengers off the Arriva 202 that runs a few minutes ahead of Longstaff 205. I don't know what the fares have reduced to but they were originally cheaper than Arriva and Hudds Bus Co. in teh first place!
If I was running Longstaff I would replace the Volvo's with 3 or 4 Optare Solo's and run the service at every 30 minutes but extend from Dewsbury up to the Hospital to provide links for people in Ravensthorpe and Mirfield. Operate at 15 minute intervals with the 202 from Dewsbury rather than just a few minutes apart.

Problem with increasing the frequency twice as many Solo's needs twice as many drivers, not sure the revenue would support that kind of increase. Longstaff do have their own departure stand in Dewsbury Bus Station and always seen to have a good load, not sure how many are paying the full fare though. Being polite now, a lot of their passengers do look elderly.
