Thought I would start a thread for Withdrawn Arriva vehicles and for those that are going very soon.
I have heard from a Driver that Dewsbury have started withdrawing the Ikarus/DAFS. The ones getting withdrawn should be out of service by the 16th of May. 22,23 and 25 are on their last legs.
A few are getting/have been withdrawn today, maybe the Enviros are starting to arrive very soon??

Surely they can't be withdrawn until after the Enviros have arrived, not before?

The Dewsbury Bus Museum www.dewsburybusmuseum.co.uk/#/arrivanews/4527295184is reporting the following "PROPOSED" fleet changes once the new buses start ariving: Quote "We have received some information about plans to re-allocate buses when the new deliveries arrive. However, please remember that things may change: Dewsbury: 22-28 to be withdrawn. 171-176 and 182-185 will move to Wakefield. Wakefield: 136-138, 140, 143, 146, 150, 156-158 and 161 to be withdrawn Selby: 511-514, 616, 621-623 to be withdrawn. Castleford: Remaining Volvos 414, 415, 417-419, 424, 432 to be withdrawn. As we hear more details they will be posted here." The Selby list is interesting in that it includes the last 3 Volvo Olympians delivered new to West Riding. Does anyone know if these 3 were actually ordered by South Yorkshire Motors of Pontefract before they were acquired by West Riding? Also missing from the list are Striders 411 currently at Wakefiled and 416 & 420 currently at Selby

I'm sure 621-623 have always been at Selby. I agree, I am sure that 621-3 have spent the entire working lives at Selby. I was using West Riding as the umbrella for West Riding, Yorkshire and Selby since these were under common ownership at that time and latterly the legals have always shown Barnsley Rd. I can go back into the late 1970's (National Bus Company days) when the Senior Management team were all based at Wakefield and all common functions outside of Day to Day operations were undertaken from the base in Wakefield, hence my umbrella use of West Riding for Ownership.

Looking at the above I would expect that Heckmondwike will be keeping their East Lancs Volvo Olympians for a bit longer. There was only a very minimal reduction the PVR following the April service changes which hence they will still require what they have.
I wonder how long 518 &519 will be spending at Selby?

Ikarus 23 has been on the 128/212 all week this week. Dewsbury seem to be getting the most out of it before they withdraw it which is good. I must say I like the Ikarus's they are a good bus and comfy. The Ikarus's in which Dewsbury have revamped have wooden seats which are terrible to sit on.

You never know could be "serving Yorkshire and the Midlands"!! Knowing Arriva Yorkshire are good at combining several routes into 1 to save cost and vehicle requirement!!!!!!!!!!! We may have a new route X29 from Heckmondwike to Midlands running 1 journey a day!

It does make you wonder just where 411 was going down the Motorway.
One possibility is it failed on route and was recovered back to Belle Isle

Could have been a replacement bus for a 443/4 in Barnsley

Could have been a replacement bus for a 443/4 in Barnsley It could, but the quickest way from Belle Isle to Barnsley is straight down the A61, that was the old X33 route. Had it been a school day I think one of the Horbury School to West Bretton School Buses Routes 535/6 goes to Barnsley that would use the M1. It was for the 16:00 departure Route 443 which must go into Barnsley Out of Service.
