Due to the fact that LBA is getting busy enough as it is with jet 2's big Expansion, It would be nice to have one Aircraft at Doncaster Finningley and another Aircraft at Manchester Ringway do you think?

no as theres no buiseness for jet2 at doncaster as ryanair and thomsonfly both have alot of routes out of there. i should imagine newcastle would be a good base for transatlantic flights. they are in the process of receiving another 757 from swedish tui.fly

I agree that TOM Have a lot of routes but ryanair have only 3 (Griona,Dublin,Alicante) and the Airport has no Translantic routes out of Finningley now due to The Aircraft Needed at Newcastle Due To the TOM And First Choice Merger.

could be an option but i think they are sticking to lba and man when these 767 arrive rumours are it will be orlando and/or new york, would be good to see a canada route like they had at lba in the 80s.

I did Not Know that the B767 could not fit at LBA as I thought that the biggist aircraft they can hanndle is the B757 and that uses up a lot of the runway as it is!?

Leeds can take 767s there is a cruise flight every sat in the winter to Barbados operated by monarch, in the 80s lba had regular flights to Canada using 747s and dc10s, big aircraft stopped using lba when a Lockheed tristar ran off the runway in 1985. photos can be seen on www.lbaviation.co.uk or www.airliners.net, Concorde also used lba until retired for pleasure flights.

Also when they used to use the 747's to Canada, they had to stop @ Prestwick for refuelling as they couldn't take off @ LBIA with enough for the trip. (Not too far off though)

does any one have the reg for jet2s new 757 could it be G-LSAJ? Yeah thats correct. Their latest B757-200 is registered G-LSAJ. Apparently (just a rumour as far as I know) it has been named "New York." Possibly a hint of where their going to announce? Who knows!

2 Jet 2 757's have been rumoured to be in line for ETOPS lience which meand that they can carry passengers across the atlantic. Now the first destination is NYC but i dont think they will last that long with competition from Continental at EWR,Delta at JFK and American at ORD with onward connections into JFK.
As for the 767's that will remain a rumour as the Thomson 767's are going to all business class airline silverjet

its true these rumours have been around a while with jet2 itself to say anything about nyc or the 767s that they could be getting from gulf air i think. globespan have failed in nyc,so dont know if it would be a good move maybe better doing orlando instead.
