I was searching through my old files and found some statistics from a Road Test in 1966 - thought it may interest our older members and maybe raise a smile from the younger element!
ROAD TEST (from 'Bus and Coach / maybe 'Commercial Motor')
CHASSIS : AEC Regent V 691 3D2RA BODYWORK: EAST LANCS H40/30R ENGINE: AEC 691 11.3 litres producing 128 BHP GEARING: 4 speed syncromesh ACCELERATION 0-30: 28 seconds MAX SPEED: 44 MPH STEEPEST GRADIENT CLIMBABLE: 1 in 6.8 MPG: (4 stops a mile) 6.8
Makes an interesting comparison with our new buses in 2009. I would be grateful if any of our members could tell me where I might find any performance statistics of any current vehicles on the market.
Thanks
